why are so many people here anti-dye?

hey dreddit, i have a genuine question here.

i was searching around online for more specific information on dying patterns into locs, as this seems to be something i virtually never see, but whenever i seem to search online (especially reddit) about dyeing locs, everyone seems to be so against it?

i’m gonna preface this by saying i’ve had my locs for upwards of 5+ years now, and have been bleaching/dyeing my hair (and others, on occasion) by myself the entire journey. i’m no licensed cosmetologist, but i definitely have enough experience to understand the ins and outs of products, and how they can effect locs.

yes, bleaching *does* in fact damage your hair, but it’s 100% possible to manage said damage without completely ruining your locs and going bald. it’s a matter of damage control and maintenance after the fact (which, if you have locs, you rlly should be doing anyway, regardless of the color treatment). so genuinely, why are so many people against it?

civil answers only please, i’m not trying to start an argument or anything. this is something i genuinely don’t understand, and would like some insight on from the other side.

attached are a few of my different dye jobs i’ve had over the years (stripes are most recent, done tonight). feel free to ask abt my own routine and maintenance! im very open to discussion :)

still safe to ride?

hi e-scooter sub!

for a little bit of context: i have a Navee GT3, have had it for abt 2ish months now, and it’s rode beautifully (save for the back tire tending to skid pretty often when braking). it caps out at 20mph, so nothing too crazy, and i only really use it for commuting to work (2mile ride, after a bus trip), or short distances from my house (max 30ish mins, abt 5.5 miles with hills)

earlier today, while riding to work, my tire skidded while going back onto a sidewalk after passing through a crosswalk, and caused me to crash head on into a lightpole. i’m fine, save for a superficial scrape on my wrist, but i’m more or less worried about the health of my scooter.

i could just be a bit paranoid and hyperaware of its motions now, especially after such a crash, but the stem feels a little bit wobbly now, but not at all completely detached. i want to know if this is still safe to ride at least for work commute, or should i retire this and start looking for another option?
