Similarities and artistic tribute to the original Game scene Gameplay also symbolism about Kuro.
In the first Ori Game in the final escape of mount Horu. There IS a part before you go down to the wáter where as soon as you get down from the highest platform of that section Kuro animation triggers. If you paid attention Kuro flies from the back to front up down to finally going from background to the foreground to instakill you and blackening out the players screen. In Ori 2 by the end of the the Ku flight cinematic you can see how the Kuro's feather reappears from the Sky down to the Forest and from back to front doing the same movement she Did in the first Game. It is like the feather symbolizes Kuro's rage for Ku getting lost and also as a symbol of protection that she IS still there to watch for her and Ori too of course. Finally, a lightning strikes and the screen blackens when the feather touches It, starting the game. It think this is no concidence, the art and cinematic team wanted to pay tribute to the original Game and specially Kuro(BEST character of the franchise).
