If you don't know, Game's Done Quick is a video game speed running twitch channel that has been speedrunning for charity for close to 20 years now. Today marks the start of one of their two main events, Summer Games Done Quick. This event will spend the next week raising money for Doctors Without Borders by utilizing donated prizes from artists within the community. This is a marathon event for the next week. The game play starts at 1:00 p.m. today and do not end until the last game is finished early early on Sunday morning next week. At the main events, gdq usually raises somewhere between 2.5 to 3.5 million dollars.
Come watch your favorite games get obliterated by some of the best speedrunners in the world, all while doing it for a great cause!! This is my 10th summer watching SGDQ and I'm so proud of this beautiful, inclusive, compassionate, leftist community continuing to come together after all these years.
