I think RBC as a character is fun, and also her power being so basic in something with the variety of Worm wraps around to being intresting. Would love to read about a Brute that isn’t Vicky or Taylor
Need some fics with Aisha as the main character or like most important side character. Ideally she’s in the story from beginning to end.
Would you read a fic where the main character is fully aware of what Parahumans are (knows the same amount about Parahumans as the avid reader).
I’m not talking like they talk down to humans and leave them to die, just that they belive that Parahumans are better and more valuable, with the capability to BE better than a human ever could.
A Parahumans value is not inherently bestowed the second they trigger, but through pushing themselves and being the ‘best’ Parahuman you can be, you’ll reach heights normal humans could never achieve. This is largely achieved through throwing themselves into conflict and pushing themselves as far as they possibly can. Not really playing with the kid gloves that the PRT, Protectorate, and Cauldron want them to.
While they may not respect humans, the actively look down on Parahumans like Amy and Parian, while placing Parahumans like Skitter and Armsmaster as better than most.
More curious on if readers would be willing to read the internal monologue of a character that fundamentally would not respect them simply due to the fact they lack a certain organ.
I've always been of the opinion that the above always feel like a bit of a trap for newer less skilled writers and they end up not making that good of a story because constantly having to balance around the stuff that gets randomly thrown at you is difficult. More skilled writers that can make something good from those systems usually just... don't? It's very rare to see.
I've seen a good Tinker of Fiction fic here or there, same for Chaos Gacha, but I cant for the life of me think of any celestial forge/dojo/grimoire fic I've read. Usually they're just undercooked stomp fics with the most bland MC on the planet. Or BBCF, but the less said about that fic the better.
Personally I'm willing to give the systems a chance, but I just so rarely ever see it done well. Even rarer that they're done well AND actually updated and not just dead in the water.
