Quiet Bar for Sunday Afternoon

I'm looking for a pub or bar, even cafe that I can use for a discussion / social group of about 5-10 people for 2-3 hours. It will be occasional meetings on a Sunday afternoon, so I'm looking for somewhere that won't be too busy or noisy.

The one place that came to mind was the Maritimo Lounge at Ocean Way, but from memory it can get quite busy at weekends, so I'd be grateful for any other suggestions. Doesn't have to be city centre.

Ticket Machines

Yesterday I had a few different rail tickets to book for September. I normally book everything online with Southwestern, but as I had a bit of time to kill around Kings Cross / St Pancras I thought I'd try the ticket machines.

The EMR machines at St Pancras were useless as they only allow booking one month in advance. Moved on to Kings Cross - machines used a different interface and initially seemed more promising, but in every case then claimed they could find no fares for the search criteria entered.

At this point I remembered why I'd stopped using ticket machines in the first place!

Went home and booked everything on Southwestern without issue. I thought ticket machines and online booking were all just front ends to the same system, so I'm surprised to find these discrepancies.

Croydon Bakery, Mitcham Road

Has anyone used this bakery and what did you think of it? I remember I went looking for it one day and failed to find it, but it might just have been one of those days.

Don't Leave Tech in Parked Cars

Just a reminder that in this hot weather don't leave any tech devices for long periods in parked cars. The temperature in a car parked in the sun on a hot day can quickly exceed the maximum recommended for devices, potentially causing significant damage or even fire.

Last Friday I went to Paulten's Park, and the only parking was a blistering expanse of tarmac with no shade whatsoever. I had a laptop and router with me which, luckily, I was able to take into the park and store in a hired locker. Returning to the car five hours later, the inside was so hot I could barely touch the steering wheel. I set off after cooling it down a little and with the aircon blasting but within 5 minutes my iPhone, which I was also using as a Satnav, shut down due to temperature.
