Hi. Have anyone else in the Southampton area struggled with DPD?

I'm disabled, a wheelchair user.

I had a large delivery Tuesday of which the driver dumped the two giant boxes in front of my door and walked off. Didn't knock or follow any of the instructions that are on my door about deliveries. I was stuck in my flat for hours, because I'm in a wheelchair and DPD depot and customer services refused to send a driver out to move the boxes. I had to wait for my dad to finish work to come move them, thus missed a medical appointment.

Once I opened the parcels, the product inside was absolutely destroyed. He had been seen kicking the parcel at the door. The company I ordered from sent a replacement. The same guy came again today to deliver. I asked him please and thank you could he just deliver the boxes to the side/back due to me being disabled. It would have taken him 10 extra seconds. He also kicked the boxes again at the door.

He gave me a load of verbal abuse and drove off and didn't want to just help a disabled person out at all. Yelling at me from across the street as he got in his van, simply because I asked him to help me out as a disabled person to just put the boxes at the side of the flat instead. Which again, would have taken him 5-10 seconds. If that.

DPD are absolutely awful to the disabled, and being told on the phone "how are we to know you're in a wheelchair" is not a nice response. The massive ramp outside my flat is a dead giveaway, and maybe not blocking people's front door access in general?

I am so disgusted with DPD. The drivers are abusive, the customer service are unhelpful, and I am shocked.

How has other people's experience of DPD/Soton depot been? Especially if you're disabled?

Might be a bit dramatic but we will forever be known as the cheats in some circles and I cant believe its not going to come up in conversation when I tell someone where I am from in the future.

The reality is Southampton is not really known goodly or badly for pretty much anything and that was probably a good thing.

Whoever sanctioned this needs to be sacked. I note comments from some fans saying we should retain the manager. I disagree - this goes wider than football and it doesn't matter how good the manager is if he authorised it.

I was in a collision on Millbrook roundabout at around 6:55am on Sunday 10th May 2026. I was joining the roundabout from the Terbourba Way lights. If anyone has dashcam footage from this time going the direction, I would be extremely grateful.

As the title says. Basically my tenancy is running out and the owner wants to sell. I couldn't get on the council whole renting this place because I'm classed as adequately housed. I have a daughter who's 13 years old and I'm worried sick we won't have some where to live. It would be ideal if I could get a council property as at least I wouldn't be living under the cloud of being evicted when a landlord decides to sell. I'm aware that I'd need a letter from my landlord to take to the council letting them no I'm being evicted , but I dare say that's going to get me housed any quicker. If someone could please shed some light on this or offer any information that might make things easier I'd be eternally grateful.

Recieves a parking charge for entering a bus lane late at night, where the lane markings are unclear and the letters are faded on shirley road.

Appeals, rejected. Fair.

Tries to pay. Website gives an error. Tries again, same thing.

Manages to pay another fine at the same time (completely at fault).

Writes to the council stating there is an issue. Would prefer to pay online rather than phone or cheque.

Hears nothing back.

Charge increases. Email representation immediately explaining situation and update. Nothing in return. This email is attached to the case though.

Calls in to ammend this. Given the proverbial finger.

Genuine attempts made to pay. Paid another too. Their service doesn't work, makes me pay more for waiting on a reply.

Southampton council well done.

Personally it is either 'Grace the disgrace' who introduced herself as such in a co-op, pinched my cheek, called me a handsome young man, invited me over for a family BBQ then stole 2 bottles of wine.

Or 'Crackhead Craig', again introducing himself as such. Asked to light his crack pipe under my umbrella despite being under the cover of a building 6 feet away.

I don't mean the famous ones like Lisa Dawkins or that Swiss Army Teeth crackhead at the station. I mean the same people that you see on your regular commute. Obviously, you probably don't know their names, but you could describe them to a tee.

Hey guys I’m a student that is gonna be in Southampton for a one year placement programme and I really want to bring my car with me but looking online I haven’t seen any free parking. Can someone pls let me know of any free parking around SO15. I am happy to walk anyway 5 to 20 minutes away to get the car when I need it.

I've looked on the Dice & Dumplings website but didn't see anything, and I've come across a Southampton roleplaying guild, but their website is pretty outdated and I'm not sure if it's still a thing.

Okay i appreciate this is a bit insane. But today the hottest delivery driver (maybe just guy in general!) I've ever seen in my life delivered my dhl express package. I actually was dumb struck at this gorgeous guy hahaha. Brunette, tall and heavily tattooed. Please count yourself blessed if this man delivers your package.

Hey everyone, thought I’d put myself out there a bit.

Moved here last week for work and trying not to become one of those people whose whole life is just office - Tesco - home 😭

I’m a mid 20s South Asian guy and still settling into the city, so thought I’d see if anyone else is in a similar boat. I’ve been in the UK before, but never lived in England, so this still feels pretty new to me.

I work in deep tech stuff (happy to bore you with it if you’re into that 😂), like long walks, hiking/trekking, being outdoors in general, and also open to learning a new language. Haven’t explored much yet either, but definitely planning little trips to places like Winchester, Isle of Wight, and wherever else looks worth visiting.

I’m a bit introverted at first but pretty chill once I get comfortable. Mainly just looking to meet good people so I don’t end up spending every weekend indoors scrolling endlessly 💀
