Newer Phone = Better Reception?
I current have a Galaxy A71 5g through T-Mobile. I've had this phone for nearly 6 years, and it's starting to show signs of aging. I've been looking at phones because I plan on switching carriers to an MVNO, and I refuse to pay the extra $60/mo for me and my wife (she has the same phone) to upgrade phones.
Of all carriers, Mint has the best prices for the phone plans we would want, but they run on the T-Mobile network. The issue with the T-Mobile network for us is that our service is very hit or miss where we live. We live in a small, rural town within an hour from a major city. Because our phones are so old, would a phone upgrade improve the spotty service? Or is the better option going to be changing provides IE AT&T/Verizon? I've looked online, but the answers seem kind of mixed.
