Can you reject overtime pay in favour of TOIL?

Im in professional services and sometimes do fieldwork stints (e.g. 12 hrs a day for 14 days straight) depending on the project.

The company I work for does have a time in lieu allowance but it is significantly less than the overtime worked (i.e., most of the overtime is paid out and you're expected to be back in the office after e.g. 2 days following the end of your stint).

I would prefer to take more time off. Can I reject overtime pay in favour of time in lieu?

On site Geotechnical Engineer salary

I have ~5 years experience as a geotechnical engineer in consulting and Im thinking of moving into geotech roles in mining.

What should be my salary expectation? My base is currently around 100K.

Also, what would be the main difference between working for one of the tier 1 companies vs smaller mining companies?

Advice - geotech consultant to mining engineer

I have a degree in civil engineering and have 5 years of experience working at a geotechnical consultancy. I am thinking of making the move to mining engineer and have a few questions.

  1. What should be my salary expectation?

  2. What roster should I aim for if I want to routinely spend my rnr time overseas? Are rosters something you can negotiate?

Thanks in advance.
