A fractured castle

Hey, this is a build by A fellow Dragonwild builder - A revelation! I did a tour live on stream and was thoroughly impressed with his interior creativity. Sometimes we struggle to busy up our interiors and he did a stellar job!

I'm using the RSDWTools for these camera shots and I'm in love. I'm not a cinematographer and maybe that's obvious, but I had so much fun with this and have so many ideas I want to bring to life! I'm open to constructive critism on this - I want to learn!

Anyway, I do these showcases every Wednesday if youre interested. We put 100s of hours into our builds and as a builder myself I love getting to explore boots on the ground to learn from the best as well as just sit in awe at the sheer brilliance others have!

I'll be keeping an eye on your builds and you're willing, have a tour and show it off!

I have a full length on youtube if im allowed to post where I explore it all!

Agility meets PvP

I'm hard at work at bringing some level of competitive play to the non-existent PvP scene. I know Jagex aren't currently invested in PvP and that's fine. Sometimes it pays for the community to initiate interest and build something ourselves - we have the tools to do so here! We have been having a lot of fun with what we have created here, paticularly in multi battles! With the new agility movements and the progression of the combat system coming soon and beyond, there is massive potential here!

-- For now, we have a 16 man dedicated EU server with over 6 arenas catering to different playstyles from tight 1 v 1 / 2 v 2 up to 5 v 5 arenas with verticality

-- we have a dedicated webpage with embedded leaderboards showing k/d as well as all the information on our rules and what to expect.

-- I host weekly events every Sunday(this is subject to change depending on what works best for all) starting from 9.30pm UTC +1/ GMT (UK) until midnight.

I am in the middle of a big passion project for a huge pvp event, though I need more stress tests on the server to guage how well it can handle intense action with 16 players.

Happy to discuss more in the comments and if you're interested, comment and ill direct you to the discord for server & password!

We skipped Silverthorn castle..

Now hear me out! First of all, I love the leg swap hop method by T__kay & Capt Thumb.

Also, this is my second playthrough doing a hard mode ultimate iron man with no fast travel... we were also at the end of the stream and my coop partner Cellix just wanted to check if it was possible.. we still beat up the dragon though!

Well the video speaks for itself!

On the leg swap hop side, I love when a game has these little cheeky mechanics that players can find out, because imo it adds gameplay depth.

We skipped Silverthorn Castle...

If you guys are familiar with the Capt Thumbs Leg Swap Hop method(originally found my T__kay), this is a really cool use of it. I honestly hope its never patched as I love using tech like this!

For context, this is my second playthrough doing an ultimate iron man challenge without fast travel and we wanted to finish the questline before my stream ended, so my gaming partner decided to try out a possible way up the walls to skip the pesky necromancers!

PvP community

Hi wilders, I'm in the process of building a dedicated PvP community & dedicated server with a few cool arenas, I just wanted to gauge how many of us are lying in wait for the PvP side of the game. I understand Jagex not prioritising PvP at the moment, but there is a lot of potential here! Let me know your thoughts on PvP so far, what issues you've come across and if you're looking for a PvP home!

PvP ARENAS

Hi wilders!

TL;DR

Join me and others tonight, and next Sunday for 9pm (UTC/UK) on my dedicated server for a mock 3 v 3 tournament on our new agility based arena! You will need to join our discord for the password. The server name is PVP ARENAS.

All information is here:

https://rustinew.com/pvparenas/

this website is a continual work in progress! You can also find all your dedicated server needs for RSDW and other games!

The long:

I'm working on building a competitive PvP community. We have a dedicated server 16 players big and a few arenas suited to multiple playstyles (see attached pictures) the server also has an embedded scoreboard that records your k/d as well as what weapons and armour were used. There will be a ranked mode coming soon!

This server is on creative mode with a few custom tweaks so we're all maxed out on equal playing fields with 300hp

Tonight and next week Sunday I'm hosting a mock 3 v 3 tournament on our agility based arena all the while stress testing the server. I need carnage of players fighting all over the spot to see how much the sever can handle to help me decide if an ambitious pvp project will work or not.

Even if you're not a PvPer, we need server stress so you can even stand on the side lines and watch the action! I will be streaming live on Twitch @ thepuckington as well as participating as I love PvP myself!

Thank you

Do you dare try this Ultimate Iron man mode!

Hello fellow Scapers, I'm Puck, short for ThePuckington. I just thought I'd share a masochistic challenge I'm knee deep in and that you might be interested in trying for yourselves... This is paying homage to the RuneScape MMORPG UIM modes.

The rules are simple - though I've added a few additions to make life more difficult..

TL;DR

  1. We cannot use storage (including Personal storage)

  2. We cannot drop trade items

  3. We cannot fast travel

  4. I am melee only.

  5. Hardcore mode.

There are caveats here as this is a survival craft game and I love building. I've allowed myself to use decorations as a means to alleviate some pressure. Imo it adds to experience as I can only use what exists as decoration or build pieces. I can also use craft stations to stash items too.

  1. No storage use is self explanatory, though my comrades decided to use personal chest as a form of a limited chest - they cannot place it down. They also allow themselves to drop items which is similar to how the original RS UIM get about. I however have gimped myself to absolutely no storage or dropping of items. Decorations feels like a fair trade off as it is.

  2. We cannot trade - this is standard for Iron man and UIM. The only point to note is we allow ourselves to use each others crafting stations if need be, I feel like this is also a fair trade off to add to the co-op aspect. Early on we did allow vestige trading since without the recipe you could not repair it so it acted as a limited time use. We just didn't enjoy waiting until respawn of key items (leggings of lightness).

  3. The difficulty of no fast travel (lode stone) is we need to move home whenever we progress. Yes, for me this means going back and forth x amount of times if I want to bring all my crafting stations with me. This makes me feel like I'm on a real adventure taking in the atmosphere in each zone. We always feel slightly heartbroken when it's moving day leaving old zones behind. But it's always exciting when we're all set up to adventure in a new zone as we have to embrace that zone entirely in order to thrive.

  4. I am melee only. This means I have to confront every mob in the game. Including the elusive deer. It really adds to the hunting aspect, sneaking from behind or creating map traps to trick deer to run towards me! Ultimately however, it means I cannot kite my way out of any mob. My comrades use a variety of melee/ range or all 3 disciplines, so this is a personal decision.

  5. Hardcore is it's own beast too. When you die you drop your gravestone, if you die again before retrieving your gravestone, you lose everything in there. I don't have back up stores of many items so I would lose a lot of progress if I fail to retrieve it. With the absence of lodestones, it sometimes means traversing across the entire map for your gravestone. This adds so much tension where you find yourself playing like metal gear solid! Having a comrade escort you eases some of that stress if they can reach you in time.. *ahem sorry bud..*

What I love about this self-inflicted game mode is every action counts. The difficulty isn't just about the combat, its about inventory management, purposeful movement and very careful decision making.

I am doing this run live on twitch from 9pm UTC / UK. We have just moved to Fellhollow and what a journey it's been already! Tonight, I'll be on my PvP server: PVP ARENAS but the next UIM episode continues tomorrow night!

I am curious though, what type of modes or runs have you tried? Give me some ideas for some future runs...
