Any tips / feedback for beginners?

Sizing question for New Balance 991v2 Made in UK.

My feet measure about 27.2 cm. I’m wearing a US 10 / EU 44 and attached a photo showing the space in front of my longest toe (big toe).

The shoes are comfortable and my toes don’t hit the front, but the heel doesn’t feel as snug as I’d ideally like. I don’t get major heel slip, but I don’t feel particularly locked into the heel cup either.

What confuses me is the New Balance size chart. It lists this shoe size as 28 cm, but I’m not sure whether that refers to recommended foot length or actual internal shoe length.

Based on the photo and the information above:
Does the amount of space in front of my toes look normal for a 991v2?
Or does it look too large and suggest that I should size down?

Interested in feedback from people who own or have fitted the 991v2.

Did anyone else struggle with sizing on the Stan Smith Lux?

I recently bought the Stan Smith Lux IF8844 and was impressed by the quality compared to the standard Stan Smith: much nicer leather, leather lining and overall premium feel.

The problem is that I ended up buying them a bit too large (EU 45⅓). I later managed to find the same model in a smaller size, which fits me better.
Now I am stuck with two pairs.

For those of you who own Stan Smith Lux, did you stay true to size or size down compared to regular Stan Smiths?

I’ve added some photos because I feel this version doesn’t get enough attention compared to the standard model (I love the cloud white color and nubuck back tag).
