Does drinking alcohol cause cancer?

I've been researching a lot lately and wanted to bring something up that doesn't get enough time in wellness conversations: does drinking alcohol cause cancer? The short answer, according to major health organizations like the WHO and American Cancer Society, is yes, alcohol is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen, meaning there's strong evidence it causes cancer in humans.
I work with clients who are generally health conscious, they exercise, eat well, manage stress, but many of them still drink without thinking twice about it. So when the topic of does drinking alcohol cause cancer comes up in our sessions, there's often genuine surprise. People associate cancer risk with smoking or processed foods, but alcohol doesn't get the same cultural scrutiny, even though the evidence is pretty clear.
The cancers most strongly linked to alcohol consumption include mouth, throat, esophagus, liver, colon, and breast cancer. And the risk isn't limited to heavy drinkers. Even moderate and light drinking has been associated with increased risk for certain cancers, particularly breast cancer.
As wellness coaches, I think that we have a responsibility to have these conversations openly. Not to shame anyone's choices, but because informed clients make better decisions. Does drinking alcohol cause cancer in every person who drinks? No, the risk doesn't equal certainty. But it's a risk worth understanding..

Would love to hear how others in this community approach this topic with clients. Is it something you bring up proactively, or do you wait for clients to ask?

can cats eat watermelon or is that a terrible idea

my cat licked a piece of watermelon off my plate like she pays rent here. I was eating watermelon while watching TV and she got super interested, which NEVER happens because she usually acts offended by human food. I let her try the tiniest bite because I thought fruit is probably harmless, and then started googling can cats eat watermelon.

I’m got all kinds of answers. some sites say it’s totally fine as a little treat, others say cats shouldn’t eat fruit at all because they’re carnivores and now I feel dumb. she's completely normal. honestly she looked more annoyed that I stopped giving her pieces than anything else. still running around, still screaming at me for food ten minutes later.
Is watermelon actually safe in small amounts or if this is one of those foods that’s secretly bad over time. And has anyone else’s cat randomly loved watermelon or is mine just weird???

this is gonna sound paranoid but hear me out. wife mentioned needing a new coffee maker today and within an hour i had three coffee maker ads on instagram. could be coincidence but its happened too many times to ignore now. went into the google assistant settings on my pixel tonight, turned off "hey google" detection, disabled voice match, revoked mic permission for the google app i think? but every menu sends me to another menu that says assistant something and i swear they all look identical.

does turning off voice match actually stop the mic or just stop it from recognizing my voice specifically? because those feel like different things. Also, if i disable the mic permission for the google app does that break other stuff that might need it? worried about my kids youtube kids app not working. theres some kind of old voice recordings stored somewhere too. do those get deleted automatically when you turn the settings off or do i need to look for those separately in my account? my work buddy says just buy a different brand of phone but that wont work. kids have everything set up on this one and switching ecosystems sounds baaad... basically i need the dad version of this. like the 3 main toggles that actually matter for shutting up the microphone without breaking everything else. not trying to install custom roms or anything, just want the simple version

anyone gone through this recently and figured out what actually works? feels like google deliberately makes these settings confusing so people give up trying

also if anyone has tips for explaining to a 7 year old why daddy turned off the talking robot in the phone that would be appreciated too
