Upgrade from a Taylor GS Mini

Hi guys, I'm looking for an upgrade to the Taylor GS Mini Mahogany I currently use as my main guitar. I had learnt on a Yamaha FS800 that I liked (OM shaped) but had to sell off. I'm looking for a guitar that handles both fingerstyle and strumming (light and aggressive) well, but that doesn't make me hide behind it. So no dreadnoughts or grand auditoriums. I know the next fuller size is an OO/OM or OOO, was hoping to get your advice on what is a bit more warmer and less bright than a Taylor. The nut width on the GS Mini is also a bit tight but I did get used to it eventually.

Budget would be up to $1500 USD. What are the best models of guitar for this price range, that fits the criteria for a smaller-bodied person like me? So its size and playability are hopefully as even as the tone and musicality. I'm looking at the Yamaha models mainly but do need a steer towards a more specific line. And other brands are welcomed! But I'm based in Singapore so the availability of certain brands has to be factored. Thanks in advance.

Edit: For tone woods... I'd prefer a rosewood/spruce/sapele sort of build. I love the mahogany but do miss a deeper bass and richer response.

Changed the strings on my Taylor GS Mini, now they're quiet

I changed the strings on my Taylor GS Mini Mahogany five days ago, and after a few times of playing (I play every day for an hour) and restretching/retuning the strings I can hear that the treble strings don't have that extra oomph to them, like they've lost some volume. I did watch StewMac's video on the headstock peg string installation part very carefully, following the instructions for the bass and treble strings (flipped).

Main problem:

When I do hammer-ons/pull-offs particularly on the treble strings they don't sound as good as the old strings.

Things to note:

- I did put on new D'addario Phosphor Bronze strings with the same gauge 13s as the old one (the old one might've been Elixirs but the same string gauge nevertheless)

- Referring to the last pic, I did make sure every string ball end was locked and positioned into every peg that way. The pegs' fluted side is also facing the strings.

- Did nothing to the nut or saddle except put some Dunlop lemon oil on them.

Beside the 3-in-one string winder tool, I don't have any other tools to check if the strings' radius are okay. So I was wondering if I should give it a few more days to settle as I play, or could I have done something wrong installation-wise?

When powered on, the mouse's top two and side buttons aren't working no matter how many restarts and reinstalls to the Razer synapse software. I tried on another laptop as well. I'm thinking there's a problem with the connection between the top PCB housing the buttons. Any suggestions for a fix?

Edit: I've tried to clean the buttons inside as per WarmAdministration76's suggestion but to no avail. Buttons are still unresponsive.
