Hate this part

I know its super necessary, but man I hate it cause I just wanna cuddle her and tell her its gonna be ok. 🥲 . . . EDIT: based on the replies, I was given bad advice and will no longer be employing this into any training. Im glad this was only the 3rd time ive ever done this and haven't stepped too deep into that rabbit hole.

Nervous

I dont know if its just cause I haven't used that much or what but Ive almost seemed to have lost the ability to point my foot forward post surgery (I am 3 months post op) and where i understand im healing, I also am worried that I wont regain that function. I may be over thinking but its a genuine worry of mine. Excuse the photo its the best one I could get at the moment.

A week ago I posted on here that I was having issues with my mal, i implemented something from everyone who posted and in just the short time since writing there has been a complete 180, she responds to her name, has settled even further and trainings are becoming easy, and super fun for both her and myself. She had her first big outing and through high value treats and good communication she did incredible. This sub has been invaluable, you all are awesome! I have a severely broken leg and cant walk atm so ive had to kind of readjust how I do things, but in the mali spirit shes adapted and flourished.

So ive had my mali for just shy of 2 weeks (13w F), we train every day 2-3 times a day (some days are better than others) and its usually off leash, it seems like she doesnt know her name even though I use it constantly and in a positive tone. This isnt my first working dog but it seems like all my training methods are for the most part falling flat and on leash is even worse in terms of focusing she doesnt pull or anything but she just wants to walk and not do anything else. Im determined but I feel like im failing her. Any tips or tricks for super stubborn malis would be awesome. Also would harnessing make this any easier?
