My Malinois Turns Into a Girlfriend During Heat Cycle”

Honestly it’s wild how much even confident working-line females soften emotionally during heat cycles. Still the same dog… just temporarily upgraded to melodramatic girlfriend OS. Any other female Malinois turn extra clingy and cuddly during heat?

I promise I won't dig out a seedling again

Xena loves to help me out with the gardening but sometimes she a bit to over eager with the hole digging😁. To give the seedlings an upper hand, I left Xena inside. Once planted i went to go open up for her and this is what I found.

She leaves planted plants, but when holes are dug for new ones and they are planted everything needs to be dug out😂😂

Goblin kevah ♡

A little video of my goblin almost 14 year old terminal malinois. ♡

Video is from years ago, but you can almost see her mass in her side below her rib cage.

Please don’t attack me in the comments. But ? Belgians and cats? Would that be okay?

I know Belgians are a high prey drive breed. And I have a cat and two mini dachshunds. I plan on breeding dachshunds in the near future.
I am getting a service dog, he’s going to be trained to assist me with my disorder as well as do bite work.
Will my small animals be safe in the home with him?
He is currently 4mo and I am going to meet him next weekend. We are going to start training immediately, and the breeder is a trainer and said she would walk me through it step by step. She also mentioned Malinois are jealous dogs so I don’t want my mini dachshunds to ever get hurt.
Edit: he comes from a very high quality working dog mom from somewhere overseas, my apologies I forgot where. And dad is also a working dog, just not as intense as mom.

What to do

I have a Belgian malinois who someone dumped at my house and he has been with us for 3 months now. He is very sweet to us, good to our other dogs, and great with cats and I’ve never had issues with seeing him being aggressive other than barking, but I just assumed this was normal as all my dogs bark.

Today he bit my boyfriend. It wasn’t “horrible” but he did leave bite mark and drew blood. My boyfriend is NEVER mean to my animals and comes over to my house roughly 5 times a month. He was outside when my boyfriend drove up and got out of his car and I was inside. I come outside to a commotion and my boyfriend was scared and my Belgian shepherd was barking at him and trying to “go” at him and my boyfriend was trying to run away. I swiftly got him in his crate and my boyfriend was shaken up but overall ok.

Please help me know what to do. I’m lost. I’ve never seen him exhibit this behavior before or hurt anyone in the 3 months I’ve had him. Animal control basically told us if they take him he will likely be put down due to his breed (we called to see if he was anyone’s dog back when he was dumped at our house). So I do not want this dog to be put down but I don’t even know where to start in fixing or solving this. I am not wealthy so boarding and training isn’t something I can afford right now.

TLDR: dog bit my boyfriend. What do I do and how can I possibly fix this behavior??

ETA: Does anyone know of any good trainers in the NC area familiar with this breed who may can help me?

Need help.!!

Hi guys.!!
We found ourselves rescuing a (assumed) Mal and shepherd mix male puppy a year ago. Today, he's over a year old, 80lbs and can sit, shake and BARELY lie down. He's great with my kids and family... But that's about it. He's so reactive and had ZERO I'm pulse control. I've tried to do some training myself (which is how he knows crate, sit, paw, off and "come" but only in the house hold). He keeps breaking his tie outs (ie runner for when it's outside time due to us not having a fence). I feel so awful because he wasn't a planned dog but we didn't want to let the people who "found " him send him to the pound. But I need help. He's nipped at a man already and has a bite record on him. The vet said it's crazy because he's an absolute sweetheart but at hoke it's sooooooooo different. We used to go on walks and car rides but now I'm too scared to do so. We live in AL, it's hot and I want to be able to have a off leash dog who listens and isn't reactive but I know I need to start with ME. He wasn't supposed to be my dog so I didn't do research but he's chosen me so now he's mine. I love him but I'm so overwhelmed and out of my league. Please, helpful comments and not judgment. Like I said, he wasn't planned but I need help. Thanks in advance. Here's my Tcuker James. ❤️
