Can you all of a sudden have allergies?

I got two stray kittens about 7 yrs ago. Their mother was hit by a truck, so about 7 kittens were left bundled together. I took two and several ppl from work took the rest.

We previously had 2 other cats years earlier.

My daughter is now 26 and lived at home thru all the cats phases. A few months ago, she noticed she was having problems breathing, at first she thght it was her sinus or other all allergies. She went and got tested. She was told it was the cats.

I questioned how it could be possible. They are indoor cats and she never had issues before. We are going to try out the Navage daily flush..... Otherwise, I have no idea what will happen.

Is it possible to develop allergies to your cats after so many years? Is there something I can do? I just ordered two air purifiers and a Navage machine.

They are playing games with my money.

I retired in 2023. After retirement I filed two workers comp case.

Both were settled in March 2026.... It is now August and I still haven't received the checks. When I speak with my lawyer, he tells me workers comp said they sent the checks. I explained, I have lived where I lived for 12 yrs and never had mail go missing. It is likely they never sent it.

Now, my attorney is saying he sends them emails and no one is responding. I told him, the stipulation said I needed to be paid in a certain amount of time or there were penalties, I was entitled to..... The attorney said, as long as workers comp logs it into some system as the check went out, they are covered. That sounds like complete BS.

At this point I feel my attorney is too soft on them. They can't prove they sent anything out. I asked to have them send it certified or send to my attorney office and I pick it up.

Is it too late to get another attorney, I feel since they never sent the checks, the nulled the contract. So, I should be able to redo this case and now want more money.

Does something need to be done here?

First time homeowner here.

After 4 months, I pretty much just finished all the other stuff I wanted to get done. One thing I always wondered was.... Why is the garage so freaking hot? Even leaving the garage door open for hours, it still stayed hot. I couldn't figure where the heat was coming from.

Today, I had some free time, so I went up in the attic (via garage) and this is what I saw... I didn't realize it was part of the HVAC. I thgt the HVAC was just the fan outside and it blew cool air thru the vents. Now I realized why the garage is so hot.

My question, this white stuff on the floor, does it need to be there or can it catch fire?

Do I need to put a fan or something up there to keep it cool? When my HVAC needs to be replaced, everything inside and outside has to be replaced? How do they even get that up there with the attic opening so tiny?

Zillow Estimates

Just curious, how much do you feel Zilliow estimates are off?

I see a lot of homes in markets aren't selling... I always heard, "It's the price!" Then I check the history and see several reductions.... Some as high as 20K in a month. And even then the home isn't selling. Plus Zilliow has its estimated value, still lower than the listed price.

Is Zillow spot on?

Or are Zillow adjusting their estimate each time the price is lowered?

Or is it not selling because buyers are taking the Zilliow numbers to heart and won't negotiate until the asking price is close to the Estimate on the website?

She is sleeping from tired or not working enough? Jk

I didn't realize this was common to the breed. I honestly thought my girl was just stretching out from a long hard day of work. Until, I noticed others posting similar pictures. Basically, she is just "chillin".

Now, I have to try to work her harder. 😂

I've had dogs all my life, from G.S. to Maltese and I never had any of them constantly sleeping like this

Why the 2 colors?

DFW-TX

Any reason why my lawn would have two separate shades of colors?

This is my backyard. I moved into the property about 3 months ago. Backyard had some brown spotting. Because it's the backyard, I never did any work to it, just cut the grass.

About 2 weeks ago, I had some extra fertilizer left from the front lawn.. I also had some extra Bermuda grass seeds, I dropped them both down. I also started using the sprinkler system twice a week. I haven't cut the grass in 2 weeks, so I was confused at the lite green perfect stripe, it looks mowed. The same with the dark patch.

What does this come from, is it possible I used the wrong seeds?

How to motivate a B.M.

About two months ago I picked up a BM from the shelter. She was 1yrs old. I thgt this would be great, I am a point in my life I have all the time in the world for a dog. I figured, jogs, walks, hiking, training, etc etc.

At 1st she was very timid. Scared of ppl, tail always between her legs. So, I would take her to Walmart, stand out front for hours, just so she could see ppl and realize they weren't a danger.

Now, she is no longer afraid of ppl and will happily walk right by them.

However, she will not walk or run. If I take her for a walk, after two blocks, she is pulling back to the house. Runs are impossible.

To get her exercise, I have to take her to the dog park, let her play for 90mins and go back home. Later in the evening, there is another dog park with a lake, I bring her to go swimming. She enjoys all of that... But no walks. This is hurting, because I specifically got her to be an exercise buddy for and wife.

I was thinking of fostering another dog, hoping maybe that would jump start her.... While also giving the wife a jogging buddy at night. But I'm tired of just feeling like a chauffeur, just driving a kid to a play date.

AC or no AC?

Greetings all, here is my dilemma

I recently moved to Texas in March. I noticed it really hasn't been too hot lately, although my neighbors have told me to enjoy it because that will change.

So far, I havent needed to use my AC but once or twice. My wife loves the heat and humidity, for her it can't get hot enough. She takes long hot showers and never turns AC or ceiling fans on. I come into the house and it feels "stuffy".

I told her, we have to run the AC or the humidity can cause mold to grow in the attic or other places.

About a week ago, we got an alarm system installed. After installation, the agent asked what we keep the AC on normally so he can set it. I said, we don't use the AC. Maybe he misunderstood and set it on and left.

My main question is, are we supposed to keep the AC/fan running season long, to prevent mold or not?

When we lived Single, she had 2 apts, each one had mold. I told her the problem is she likes places very humid, she claims it was because the apt were old. The apts were built in the 2000s, I lived in homes all my life built in the 1930s and 40s and never experienced mold.

How to buy Home Insurance?

I recently bought a house, now I am looking for insurance. As everyone knows, prices are thru the roof. Several big companies have told me 5K, another big name company told me $2K.

I am looking to buy a policy with just the bare minimum. Just to cover me for a major event.

I don't need coverage for a broken shower head or leaking faucet..... Just in case my house burns to the ground.

I have no mortgage, so I can set my own limits. I also have another home in a different state, so I don't need hotel coverage, in the event of repairs.

I already had a pipe burst and caused damage, repairs I paid out of pocket.... And it was a lot cheaper then had I gone thru an insurance company (about $1200). So, I am willing to handle the smaller things.

I saw someone in here once mentioned what to ask for when looking to save money on a policy. That's the kind of information I am looking for... What should my numbers be? Thank you for any help.

Saginaw, Texas.

How can I repair this?

I got LV installed about 2 months ago, everything was good until a few weeks ago, I had a water pipe burst and didn't know how to turn water off. I began mopping quickly.

Now 2 weeks later the floor is buckling in spots.

I would say about 95% of the flooring is good. But some are bad.

One of the worst spots was the entrance to my bedroom. It got so high it was becoming difficult to close the door.

According to my wife, the buckling is due to the expanding of the boards from water. Hmmmm, it sounded reasonable and since the installer left a few pieces behind, I decided I could just pop a few pieces and install regular size pieces again.

Except, the pieces seem to be the same size and not wider. Did I just open up a can of worms?

Should I get rid of my GF

I sincerely don't know what to do.

Recently, I brought a house and invited my GF to move in. I've had dogs all my life, so it was natural to want another, with a house and nice yard. My GF had a lab/terrier mix, so she is used to dogs and loves them too.

After about a month in the new house we decided to get a dog. We went to the shelter, there was a Belgian Mal, with only 4 days left before euthanized. She was "1yr 1 month" old, so this was an easy decision.

Fast forward 2 weeks and the GF can't stop sneezing, wheezing, etc etc. Today, she asked, "What if I am allergic to her (my dog)?". I blew her off and didn't respond, but it hurt me to the core to even think it's the dog. She has literally become so attached to me. I can't walk in a room, without her following me. I'm retired, so my whole day is surrounded with her. 7am runs, 9am dog park, 11am YT training videos, rest from 12 to 2 as I go to gym. Then another walk, after tossing the ball in the yard.

I just can't imagine her going back to a shelter, heck I can't picture her going anywhere.

Is it possible to be allergic to one dog but not another?

I truly believe something like this could sink our relationship.

**GF and I have been together 9yrs. We both lived in 2 separate states our whole relationship, until I retired, then I moved to Texas, she was able to get a job transfer, so she moved here with me.**

Basically, I'm looking to buy this house. Sadly the previous owner either committed suicide or didn't know how to handle a gun. She shot herself and the bullet went thru the wall, hit the water line coming from the street and logged into the water heater.

Real estate agent said the main pipe in the wall has to be repaired before the water can be turned back on by the city.

The house is being sold as is, although the home inspector found no other major issues. I'm wondering...

  1. Is this where the bullet hole area is cut out or welded.

  2. The bullet hole is at top of water heater, does that have to be replaced or can it still function, as is for a few more years.

I just bought a house about a month ago, 1st two weeks I was living there alone as I got some renovations.... At night I was getting a creepy feeling. Like during my showers, it felt like someone was walking past the door. During late night hours, I swear I could see the shed light on. But when I go, it's off.

One day, my neighbors across the street stops by to welcome me to the neighborhood and share some cookies. The wife starts talking about the couple that used to live here, she says the husband died tragically. I didn't ask and she didn't go any further.

The next day, me and the neighbor's husband is talking..... Then he mentions, after the husband died, the wife struggled financially but couldn't keep up with the bills..... The one day she commits suicide in the house. WTF!!!

I am certain I saw on a disclosure form a question about if someone died in the house. And it said "NO". I even joked with my agent, I wouldn't want to buy a house that someone died in. And she stated, the house was being used as an Airbnb and the daughter decided to sell it.

This whole thing has been freaking me out.... Especially late evenings when I heard "house sounds".

Do I have any recourse any sort of compensation
