Trying to decide on crank length - does 5mm help?

I’m (f) 5’3” (163cm) with an inseam of about 73-75cm, currently using 165mm cranks but I feel that it could be lower. (It’s crazy how size M and size 2XS bikes have the same crank length of 165??) I’m trying to decide between 155 and 160 cranks.

160 cranks are much cheaper than 155 cranks. Furthermore, shimano only goes down to 160, and for 155, I would have to get it from Rotor at more than 2x the price.

So im wondering if it’s worth sizing down to 160 since its just 5mm less than 165. Or should I just pay the short person tax and get the 155 cranks? Would appreciate anyone’s advice, thanks in advance!

Curious to see if there’s a common foot to unclip

I just recently started using clipless pedals. Am a right handed and I unclip with my left foot. My bf is a left handed but he unclips with his left too. I’m just curious to see what the ratio is like - which side do you guys unclip with?

Canyon Endurace CF SLX vs Giant Defy

Hi everyone, im a beginner and this will be my first bike. I have a budget of $5k. Though of course im deliberating if i should something even cheaper at $1-2k being a beginner. But I kind of dont want to go though the hassle of selling the bike afterwards to upgrade. Would prefer to get something with good value at the start.

I’m looking for an endurance bike for long rides and forgiving enough to handle not-so-smooth roads.

Am looking at these 2 models so far: Endurace CF SLX 7 Di2 and Giant Defy Advanced 1 (5th gen)

Endurace CF SLX 7 Di2

$3300 USD

SL carbon, 105 Di2 gear, carbon wheels, adjustable cockpit, 35max Tyre clearance

Giant Defy Advanced 1 (5th gen)

$3200 USD

higher Tyre clearance 38max, 105 Di2 gear, alloy wheels

Would appreciate any other recommendations or your opinion on these bikes, thanks so much!
