For those who have bought Vizions or XR90s: thoughts about the skate…in particular the pitch?

I tried each boot on and thought they were both extremely comfortable; however, I’m hesitant to pull the trigger on them with the added pitch. Fearful it’ll be too much of an adjustment to learn to skate on my toes (I’m in my 40s 👴🏼).

Feedback on new Daoust skates?!

I’m an old man and Daoust and Micron Mega were widely popular when I started playing. Saw Daoust came back and was curious to know if anyone had feedback, particularly on the 701s. Wondering how they fit width wise, how stiff they are, how thermoformable they are, durability, etc.

Unfortunately the local shops in my area don’t carry them, so I don’t have and luxury of being able to try them on. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

For those that have purchased skates within the last year or so, what did you get and how do they compare to your old pair?

Would love to get impartial feedback since the social media reviews are still pretty slim. It’s either Chase from I-Dub hockey making every skate sound like it’s revolutionary, the Hockey Tutorial guys demolishing Bauer, or the manufacturers themselves talking about how the new 26k carbon CURV in the lower paired with DUAL-REACT upper and super reflex tongue mold seamlessly into an aerodynamic asymmetrical toe box lined with AMP padding atop the tri-flex ultralight holders and new black diamond steel, which increases your acceleration ability by 46% and makes you faster than McDavid.

Switching from p92 to p28. Does stick length stay the same?

As the title says, I want to give a p28 a shot. I’e posted on the sub a few times before but I’m an older guy who played in the 90s and early 2000s, then took a 20 year hiatus, so a lot of the new tech and specs are very foreign to me. I learned to play with a short stick (between chin and collar bone), which is the length of my current stick (p92).

For those of you who made the switch to a 28, did you keep the same length, leave it longer because of the lie angle, etc? Also, what are the pros and cons you noticed after making the switch? I understand the difference in shooting, but what about stick handling, passing, catching passes, etc?

TIA from the old guy!

Help needed! Most efficient way for an old timer to learn how to shoot like today’s generation?!?

Tl;dr: mid 40s, was a pretty solid player, spent a year in the NAHL and played D1 club in college (graduated 05). Been fortunate to remain injury free for the most part and have kept myself in good shape. Took a 20 year hiatus from the sport, got back into it a few years ago.

Play in a pretty competitive beer league with a lot of younger guys who learned how to shoot lasers with these one piece sticks. I grew up with wooden twigs, the aluminum Gretzky, and eventually the z bubble. Was taught to shoot in the traditional sense (long sweeping wristers, slappers, etc.).

Has anyone in a similar situation taught themselves how to snipe like these younger guys who manage to get the puck off their stick in a tenth of a second? If so, would love pointers
