So this coin is normally pretty common, but for this date and mint you should always check the edge. If the lettering is printed into the coin it's common. But if you get raised lettering it's a seriously rare coin. Numista lists the mintage for the normal indented edge at over 6 million, and for the relief edge just over 4000. Picked this up during my travels and not only is it rare but it hasn't been messed with and looks nice and original.

1920 Straits Settlements Dollar

Crispy paper tone on this guy. Bit undersized. Fun coin.

1808 peru Proclamation 8 Reales

Proclamation issue. Always surprised any of these exist in decent shape with the amount that were worn as jewelry, holed, or heavily circulated. This is a type I don't see very often so maybe that's why it escaped? It does have a light bit of wiping on the obverse but it's really nice.

Picked this up recently. Can't really find heads or tails of it- not sure if it's a private commemorative or official. Seems to be commemorating retirement savings but other than that the legends don't seem to be much help. Any input is appreciated.

Some reason I keep getting Iranian coins lately. I guess I collect these now since selling them is a pain.
