Black skeins - Dharma True Black 3% DOS with about half gram of Jacquard Teal to try to counter the purpleness. Ended up black with some teal and purple undertones.
Blue skeins - I originally dyed these with black, navy and green and they ended up a muddy purple. I overdyed them with Teal and I think they turned out nice. They’re slightly felted, but I think still usable.
If I want to add just a little more twist to my plied yarn, do I want lots of tension? And should I treadle faster or slower than how I originally plied? While we’re at it, does fast treadling make more or less twist, given a similar tension?
This is my first time dying roving. It is KnitPicks wool of the Andes and I used Dharma acid dyes with citric acid. I used navy blue, forest green and true black. I also used a tiny bit of pineapple koolaid for some spots of yellow. I was hoping for bits of all the colors, but it just turned out purple, which isn’t my favorite. How did it end up purple?
