Consider Signing the 3-to-5 Petition!
I'm not affiliated with this effort, but I think it's a great idea for the county and HR in particular. This website from the organization backing it lists upcoming events where citizens of Douglas County can sign, and has a detailed FAQ, https://www.3to5dougco.com/event-list
The gist is that if this group gets enough signatures, then Douglas County residents will get to vote on whether to increase the number of county comissioners from 3 to 5, and we'd also vote on two different proposals for whether all of the comissioners would be district-elected or if we'd keep 2 at-large reps. For HR and a handful of other relatively populous parts of the county, I think this could be a good opportunity to have a county representative more directly accountable to our area. I also think this could help moderate the decisions that the comissioners make.
