Pickles is home🥹

She was just a few houses down from home. But after a run in with a hawk and who knows what else in the solid 16 hour adventure, she is uninjured but famished. ( I have video but I guess I can’t add that here ? ) Immediately went to food, so I gave her a nice slice of apple, her favorite, and she said still hungry! And started noshing on the whole thing.

Promptly went to the store to buy plenty more apples to spoil the ish outta her. So so so dang relieved. 💚

Map of Highlands Ranch

My kiddo loves maps and we got a map of HR that he's obsessed with, but I can't remember where we got it and now his is falling apart. Any idea where they give those out?

Found a lost red eared slider turtle on road

Hello! While driving home I found a pretty big red eared slider next on the road next to copper Mesa he is not native here and there are no pond near by is this anyone lost turtle? His is in a temp set up in my bathtub with water, a hide and a heat lamp.

disclaimer Red eared slider turtles are NOT native to the state of Colorado and have an incredibly damaging effect on our local ecosystems when released, destroying populations of native painted turtles. This animal was found in a suburban area far from water, indicating he is an abandoned or lost pet not capable of surviving in the wild

Stage 1 Fire Restrictions!!!

Douglas County has now declared stage 1 fire restrictions as of today.

This means no open burning, no model rockets, and NO personal fireworks.

Respect the community and what’s going on elsewhere in the state over a few loud noises and sparks. Several new fires started up over the weekend and already the US is over 160% of normal total acres burned year to date.

Post-Apocalyptic PvP Combat Game in Littleton this Sunday! [FREE]

Hi Denver Gamers!

Our community game days around the Denver area have been drawing awesome crowds, so we are keeping the momentum rolling and bringing the action down to Littleton this weekend.

If you love competitive gaming, tactical strategy, or fantasy/sci-fi settings, but want a unique way to get outside, level up stamina, and meet people, you should come check out Colorado Jugger.

What is Jugger?

Think of it as a live-action, high-energy mashup of an objective-based PvP arena, rugby, and a post-apocalyptic action movie. Two teams fight to protect their "runner" so they can score a point with the game piece (the skull). It’s fast-paced, highly strategic, and relies heavily on team synergy. While it’s huge internationally (100+ teams in Germany alone), it’s currently one of the fastest-growing local combat communities right here in Colorado.

Why join the match?

  • 100% Free / All Gear Provided: We supply all the foam weapons (called "pompfen"); you just show up and play.
  • Zero Grind Required: Every single one of us started at Level 1 with no experience. If you can jog and swing a padded stick, you’re ready for the field.
  • The Lobby is Open to Everyone: We mix up the teams throughout the morning, making it incredibly easy to meet people and make new friends.
  • The Post-Game Guild Meetup: We almost always head to a local Littleton restaurant afterward for a casual social hour to swap stories from the field.

The Details:

  • When: This coming Sunday, 6/28/2026 @ 10:00 AM
  • Where: Robert F. Clement Park (7306 W Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80123) at Pavilion H
  • Bring: Water, athletic clothes, and running shoes (cleats are a huge plus if you have them).

Whether you’re a tabletop strategist, a hardcore PC gamer, or a casual athlete looking for a real-life battle arena (most of us are a mix of all three), there is a spot for you on the field.

Learn more about the sport: https://www.coloradojugger.com/

Join our Discord to ask questions or coordinate rides: https://discord.gg/3TRjwZ9cyb

See you at Clement Park! ⚔️🛡️

Want better oversight and accountability in local government? Please sign the 3 to 5 petition!

Only 3 commissioners for a budget of $756 million of our taxes, representing 400,000 residents? The same number we've had since we became a county of 10,000 residents?

It only takes two for a majority and we've seen how they make decisions to benefit their donors, not their constituents. 5 commissioners, voted on by district, not all at-large, would add some oversight and accountability to the Board of County Commissioners.

Full list of events where you can sign the petition is found here, with more constantly being added. Events | 3 to 5 Douglas County Commissioners

Closest to home - Civic Green Park, Sunday 6/28 from 10-12 (we'll be in the shelter near the playground)

This is so important and the signature requirement is high. We need everyone who believes in better representation and oversight to make the effort to sign, please!
