Kin Insurance doubled Rate? Anyone else?

My home insurance renewal is coming up and for 1 home we have we use Kin Insurance.

At the time the original rate was pretty decent but now I got a letter stating they are doubling the rate.

I've read on Reddit this is common with Kin. I guess they get people with a teaser rate then just jack it up the moment they think you are not paying attention.

Wanted to ask on here if anyone else has experienced this?

Are Remote Jobs possible to find?

Everyone here recommends "Not using LinkedIn, and using smaller job boards" for remote jobs.

That doesn't seem to work that well though. The alternatives aren't not producing results for me.

I've tried all the big remote jobs boards and small ones. The problems are exactly the same everywhere:

  1. Listings that have been up for months and are ghost jobs.

  2. Jobs that are listed as "Remote" but really are "Hybrid".

  3. Bad and vague job descriptions that tell you absolutely nothing about the actual work.

  4. 500+ applicants on job listings before you even finish reading it.

The difference with the small job boards is you can focus on less job postings but I don't think there are enough.

I mostly just see the same jobs everywhere now.

Does anyone else have tips for finding Remote Jobs?

Nothing humbles you faster than searching for a job right now

Man you can do everything right.

  1. Match the resume to the job description
  2. Write a good cover letter.
  3. Keyword stuff and match.
  4. Fill out the entire application carefully.

Get rejected in like 1-2 hours later.

Like damn at least pretend a human saw it I guess? 😭

The worst part is how draining the whole process becomes.

I am glad I have a decent job right now but I know I don't want to stay here forever.

Every company has a different ATS and hiring system, different questions, different formatting they want.

You spend more time re-entering information and applying than actually showing your skills.

I genuinely understand now why people get burnt when job hunting. I also used to work at a recruiting agency!

Searching for a job IS a full-time job.

Argue

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspectives?" If not there is not point to argue.

No matter

I found a quote that said:

No matter your age, you'll always wish you started younger, but today is the youngest you'll ever be.

So start today.

Meet

You can meet a boy who is 35 and a man who is 23.

Age doesn't matter, behavior does.

Sometimes

Sometimes, we reduce communication with people we love. Not because we hate them, but because they make us feel like we are nothing tot them.
