Upgraded to Polaris - Never Told
I was on flight UA30 this past Monday that was 9hrs delayed due to a plane issue. I paid miles + money to get on the waitlist to upgrade to Polaris.
9hrs later when we boarded the plane, I sat in my economy seat. Now, three days later when I reached out to United about not getting my refund for miles + money, they told me I sat in 2A. No one told me I was upgraded, and I am so upset, not only because I lost this experience, I would’ve loved to be in Polaris, but because I am out 20K miles I saved for years and $500.
Please if anyone has advice for me on how to deal with this. I am 22 years old and am so heartbroken over this experience. I worked hard to gain status with United and have been loyal until now. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance guys.

For more info, no this flight is not in my past flights. No the FAs didn’t realize during meal service. There was no meal service, the food spoiled during the delay and they gave snack boxes to everyone. This was a super unlucky journey, and I will continue to fight for a refund, keeping my fingers crossed.
