Break system failure?
I purchased a certified pre owned 2021 Escalade ESV from my local Cadillac dealership in December of 2025.
This morning, I was coming to a stop at a red light and all of a sudden this message popped up on the dash (as well as trailer break system error, stabilink error, and the ABS, tire pressure and engine lights came on) and my breaks stopped working. It was legitimately terrifying and thank god I wasn’t going at speed on the Highway.
For several seconds (maybe 5?) the breaks wouldn’t work at all. Then suddenly they “came back” but they shuttering under my foot.
I very gingerly made the turn to get onto the side of the road, got towed to the dealership and of course it’s Sunday so I’m waiting for them to open.
Just curious if anyone has had this issue, has any insight or any general knowledge to share on what this problem could be? Supposedly it is covered under the 1 year CPO warranty but I’m trying to get an idea of exactly what this could be. Thank you!
