F19 eating chicken nuggets and need to rant about something controversial

Just need somebody to rant to. Went on a lame date today, want to talk about a bad pattern I keep seeing in men my age.

Fun things to do alone?

There's 1 month left of school, I have literally no friends, and I need shit to do to get that off my mind. What are some fun things I can do alone here?

Social Etiquette Question

Sometimes I like to just go up to people sitting alone in the dining hall like “hey can I sit here?” and start a conversation with them. I have mostly found it to be an at least somewhat effective method of making friends/acquaintances, but every now and then I get pretty bad reactions from people. I sometimes feel like I’m just really annoying.

Is it okay that I do this, or should I just stop? I really don’t want to come across as invasive or annoying- I’m genuinely just trying to put myself out there and meet some new folks.

I doubt I'll get any responses posting to the school insta story, roommate manager doesn't have very many people available, and if I try putting flyers up I know they will most likely be taken down. Any strategy recommendations?

Some things to know about me:

-I don't mind guys or girls, but I do tend to get along better with guys sometimes. I am a girl myself and will be a sophomore next year.

-I'm not a neat freak but I like things to be at least somewhat organized/clean

-I go to bed pretty early and need a silent sleeping environment

-I'd love to have someone to cook with from time to time

-I don't care if you drink but please don't smoke in the room

-I am politically moderate and non-religious- if you're politically or religiously extreme, we might not be super compatible

-If you ever need the room to yourself and/or a partner for a bit, I'm chill w that, and I hope the same will apply vice versa

-I honestly might be out of the room most of the day anyways sometimes. I like to get out and be social around school, and I'm more productive studying in other places.

-MOST IMPORTANTLY: treat me like a friend, not a child. My current roommate is constantly looking over my shoulder, talking down to me, and scolding me over every little thing... if I ever have to deal with that kind of behavior in a roommate again, I will go crazy.

I need to know if I'm making the right decision about a personal situation, I'd prefer to talk to someone in their 20s. Let's text on here first and then VOICE CALL PLEASE!

Somehow I always wake up at like, 6 or 7 (no pun intended) and I end up being super bored, particularly on weekends cuz I have nothing to do and none of my friends are awake yet. I’ve started going on morning walks as the weather has been getting nicer, and I figured it’d be nice if somebody could join me. I love meeting new ppl, so hmu if you’d be down.
