I'm hoping to begin the emigration process soon, and from what I've seen Costa Rica and Uruguay look like great picks. I've been working on my Spanish, and looking for online jobs to pay for everything, but I'm torn, as an atheist, democratic socialist, stoner, who loves the tropics, which of the two countries would be the most welcoming? Which of the two would be cheaper? Is there somewhere I'm overlooking that would fit me better?

I'm no scientist, I'm a pre-med college dropout; but I have a theory that life itself isn't special or all that rare in the universe. I think this because life is very good at increasing entropy and spreading heat, so by that logic life my be an inevitability under the correct conditions (like early earth: see Miller-Urey experiment in link) due to the laws of thermodynamics.
