Thinking of getting a 2026 Si as a forever daily.

I am looking into some new Si's in my area and have found a couple without markups. I'm right on the edge of pulling the trigger and was hoping y'all could enlighten me about the ownership experience beyond what youtube press reviews say. As I'm sure everyone knows, the American si's now get all the originally Canadian features for the earlier years of the 11th gen (pretty sure).

Situation:

I already have fast cars, faster than a CTR, so I'm really not interested in a CTR.

My current daily is, and has been since I got my license in 2016, a 1999 Accord (auto). It's got 250,000 miles and doesn't show any sign of quitting. I mention this because that's the reliability I'd expect from a new Civic. If I'm way off the mark there, I'd appreciate the correction.

I say "forever daily" because I do not and will not feel the need to build this car, nor do I plan on selling it (unless absolutely necessary). I'd really like for this car to last a couple generations (planning on having kids in around 5 years).

This would be my first ever new car so I'm sort of honey mooning that aspect of the purchase. I do feel as though all the general pit falls of a new car purchase are negated by the Si: little to no depreciation (every used 24 or 25 Si in my area is listed for more than a new 26), good insurance rates, etc.

The only concern I have is with rev hang. I don't own any drive by wire vehicles so I'm totally unfamiliar with the sensation. Since I'm used to shifting at a regular to brisk pace, will I be frustrated by it? Is there a throttle control module I can plug in to negate it without voiding warranty? I'm thinking of something similar to mapping or tuning devices that plug into the OBD port.

I don't need to be convinced to buy a new Si per say, I'd just like to get some opinions from owners about my expectations! Thank y'all very much.
