Hello!
When departing from a very busy Class Charlie airspace, departure likes to keep me on frequency for flight following for up to 30-40 miles, but frequently is too busy to provide traffic alerts. Is there a polite and professional way to request to switch over to center’s frequency for flight following services rather than staying with them and not getting proper attention or outright canceling

When outside of the Class Delta airspace, if tower has not yet said frequency change approved but I would like to switch frequencies, what would appropriate and friendly terminology sound like?
Also, I was always taught to include direction and altitude when requesting takeoff clearance from tower, but have been recently “scolded” by tower for including it since I was VFR. Should I just omit this and wait for them to ask for it if they want it?

Can somebody help walk me through what the communication will be when departing a Class C airport to another airport to the southwest? And explain what I should say and how it will sound? Why am I even contacting them?
