Well… they fixed it

Was really nice being able to farm a bunch of materials quickly 🥲

Well, guys, it’s been fixed. Rest in peace to the loot luck drop from the genuine gathering ant mutation. It was fun while it lasted

I guess those of us who actually managed to level up the mutation and get the new trinkets were very lucky. Now it’s going to be a grind once again

Post Into The Abyss base building now we have the PTS

I wanted to see how others felt about the introduction of the Pneumatic Transit System after the latest update.

My friend and I have played through Grounded 1 several times and gotten all achievements for it on both Steam and Xbox. For Grounded 2 we have played since day one of early access, always on the beta branch, and have played well beyond the amount of content each one brings just because we love the game so much. I don't know if this qualification was necessary but I wanted to give some context of my experience with the game.

I maintain my own Grounded 2 world that I only touch after the pair of us have nearly exhausted the content available in our shared world. One perk of that is learning from mistakes and discoveries of that and putting them into action into my solo game. My primary home base is therefore a bit further away from where we are in our shared game because I felt where I built was more optimal.

Every update, I look for an excuse to build a sub-base elsewhere. For The Toxic Tangle, I ended up with one on top of the wall that divides it from the starter area and built pathways to it that go around the statue and up to it easily. For the AXL update, I built a minibase near the area that includes relevant supplies, the items to spawn him, a bed, and the two decorations for both buffs. I did likewise for King Dozer.

We knew ziplines were coming just as they did in Grounded 2. Planning ahead for this, I built a huge bouncepad relay going high up my base, then extended a huge walkway out so I'd have a clear sight line to my other bases and general areas I wanted to go. It took me ages, I massively enjoyed it, and I felt proud when it was done.

What we didn't know was coming was fast travel. I like it, I use it, and am happy it's in. However, the more I play this update, the more I'm realising it's harmed the concept of building a base for me. When the game was showcasing I could build a base underwater, for the first time in an update, I couldn't really see the point. Sure, I can and will do one somewhere for fun, but what's the need when I can just zipline from my base straight down to the Trash Bag Ranger Outpost and be there and back in seconds?

I was chatting to my shared world friend about this and how the PTS has changed the landscape and wondered if this is really a good thing? If I had to start over or for a NG+ where else would be better for a base than to just go straight to the south west of the picnic table, incorporate the entrance of the Trash Bags Outpost at the base of the building, and then build towards the sky for some key ziplines? I could see an argument for doing so in Ceremony and doing the same with the entrance to BURG.L's Body Outpost to be more central though.

I acknowledge that a part of this is the modern gamer fascination with optimising the life out of a game but I was curious how others are feeling about the introduction of a true fast travel system within Grounded for those that have spent a bit of time with it now.

This spider couldn't deal with it's own fate LOL

Poor Orb Weaver, couldn't deal very well with it's own destiny and decided to finish it by itself LOL

Where are the cigarettes?

A city park in the early 90s would have definitely had some cigarette butts lying around. I’m surprised that the teens aren’t pulling on heaters.

Who else has the 68/70 (or 69/70) Ranger Quest Blues?

Seeing the quests there... taunting you. Dash 3 times underwater! Kill the Garden Boss!

I DID THAT. I want my raw science and the piece of mind in knowing I was capable of dashing underwater and being victorious in the garden!

I desire that 70/70. I need it. It's all I can think about.

At least you 69/70 people can make the funny nice joke. The 67/70ers can do that weird thing the kids are doing. But no, I'm a 68/70. Nothing is funny about 68.

New players here: Way too much combat.

A friend and I picked up the game a couple of days ago. Have 11 hours so far. Starting exploring out of the starting area to make a new base, and my god! We are constantly fighting these giant bugs with insane aggro ranges. It's too much. We can't build a base or even breathe.

After checking, it seems like this is a current patch issue, but we absolutely rage-quit after fighting an orbweaver, mosquito, and bombardier at the same time for the 3rd time. Honestly, combat felt a bit too constant/swarmy in the early areas, but this is too much. Hopefully there is a patch soon to fix it. I like the game, but I want to have fun, not feel exhausted.

BREAKING NEWS FOR THE LADYBUG

The Ladybug is able to carry eggs. I found this feature out by accident, because I wanted to kill the Papa Toe Biter with his weakness as an insult. Joked around and tried to pick up the egg...AND IT WORKED

Repairing the Mix.R thingies?

Shouldn’t I be able to repair these MIX.R units and defend them again? Am I doing something wrong, or is this simply a bug?

Billy Hog pieces under green bench

So, curious if this has happened to anyone else. We have a base setup on the concrete slab under the bench, north of the snake. We do t use that one much but decided to add a zip line to it. We stopped by and when we entered we found over 100+ billy hog pieces just littering the open area of our base. Really strange.

For anyone wondering, I found some toenails. The location is by the overturned red bike

Honestly, your guess is as good as mine as to what a fucking toenail clipper is doing in the park on the ground. But there are two toenails here. These are the only two I have found so far, I don’t know where others might be. My character icon marker is where you should be, near the bike.

You know, Im curious... How many of you like to play first person vs third person?

I wish I knew how to make a poll on my computer through Reddit. Anyway, do you like

#1 FIRST PERSON

or

#2 THIRD PERSON

I only play third person. You can see more of the map, more of your surroundings where the bugs are, etc.
