G2 Staff Idea: Solar Singe!

G2 Staff Idea: Solar Singe!

(forgive the spritework, its the only program I got 😭)

Basically, I feel like Staves in G2 could go much further beyond being just lobbing sticks, so I designed this staff to be more of a beam staff. Basically, the longer you use the beam, the stronger and more damage dealing the beam will become! There would be about 2-3 stages to this attack, and you can fire it as long as your stamina lets you.

This makes it so you can do things like let your Buggy tank damage for you, while you stay back and slowly attack, if you get attacked and your forced to stop shooting, then your beam is back to square 1. I tried to make this staff a little more skilled than the others, so you can only get the most value by playing smart and trying to stay back while your buggy or your friends tank damage.

This is a staff that's supposed to be obtained after you get to the pond section of the map, being a tier 3 staff. I always saw the new Phantom Quartz that Grounded 2 added as a great material to base a staff around, so by combining the mysterious capabilities of Glow and Unstable Goo, this staff lets you fire a slowly growing beam of light, kinda like Iron Man's unibeam.

Hope you like the idea!

something weird I've kinda noticed with G2 Staves

I really liked how Grounded 2 reworked a lot of it's weapons, such as the dual daggers and the much stronger bows, but I really never liked how Grounded 2's staves work.

In the first Grounded, the staves, (I'll be using the spicy stave as my example since its the base for most of Grounded 2's staves) seemed a lot less buggy, the charge animation for them and the distance the projectile went seemed to be very consistent with eachother.

For Grounded 2 though, I feel like Staves feel a lot more buggy and kinda weird to use? I could charge a full stave attack and the blob that shoots out (from almost all of them) seems to be really buggy and angled in a weird way, it's less easy to notice if you play in 3rd person, but man they feel odd in 1st person.

I think the rework in giving Staves less range but more splash was a good change for Grounded 2, but I really hope they end up making the shoot animations with the staves match the trajectory and arch that the G2 Staves shoot.

just wondering, can I fall below SS rank

I'm a new player who got this game a couple months ago, I'm just wondering if I can fall below SS rank. If I can, do you even suggest I continue playing to fall back into S+, I keep facing 100+ hyperboost people and idk what to do

NEW SCREENSHOTS for the summer update, from the IGN interview

TONS of cool stuff shown off, like this enormous lab with a purple looking liquid below (lava?)

plus a tadpole redesign, sneak peaks at the new pond, plus the HUGE dead tree, which looks like to be atop a mountain.

also, the return of the GREEN SHIELDBUG! with a new looking sword from what I can see? The gas-masks they wear also seem to be a lighter color, maybe its just the lighting but perhaps theres now a green shieldbug gas mask?

yo could someone draw my oc Swiss 🥹✌️

Swiss is the swiss roll btw, not the stick of dynamite

it'd be cool to see because I'm just a pixel artist and not a full on artist 🌹

yo I think WE can all agree that the ORC Fireflies during the JavaMatic were horrid to defend against if you didn't have a good ranged weapon

I HATE these guys with a burning passion, and while its a lil bit of my fault for not carrying a good bow, these guys just kept knocking me back with their goo. WE and I mean WE wish death upon these guys ✌️🥹

Made a Tierlist on how easy-hard I think it is to memorize a bugs attack pattern (kinda like a Perfect Parry tierlist)

Haven't seen the Infected Ant variants at all yet, although I'd assume they'd be similar to how fire ants attack. I'd also say this tierlist's main contributing factors are:

- how many attack patterns a creature has

- how FAST the attacks from this creature are

- how many attacks a creature can do in a single attack pattern (like a wolf spider 5-bite attack)

this does NOT take into account how hard the creature is to fight, mostly just how easy I'd say learning their perfect block pattern is

(didn't rank battlestyles, since I only ended up using about 2-3 of them in my playthrough, I also didn't wanna be biased due to what battlestyle I use)

If you'd like an explantation for why I ranked a mutation in a certain place, go ahead and ask, I'd be glad to answer!

Also, my bad if the boss mutations are ranked kinda oddly, in all honesty, I never really used them all that much. 😅
