My Jeep is best Jeep
Saw this bad boy at work the other day. If you wanted a true Jeep, you can’t get much closer than this.

For starters, I’m a larger man at 5’11” and ~270 pounds. I love sleeping on a thin pillow and I toss and turn. My old mattress is in the guest bedroom and my relatively newer mattress is in my bedroom.
I deal with sciatica that comes and goes. Lately it’s been bugging me, so I’ve been sleeping in the guest bedroom for about the past week. While my sciatica pain feels slightly worse, my body as a whole feels more comfortable? It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
The 20 year old mattress has long since lost any kind of branding. It’s just a simple ~8 inch innerspring without a pillow top and a thin layer of foam on the bottom for laying on a box spring. It’s also on a vintage bed frame that has springs under the mattress itself.
The 4 year old mattress is a Sealy 10 inch bed in a box. Listing is no longer available but it was about $350 when I bought it. It now feels far too stiff for my liking and I cannot get comfortable at all. It’s on a platform bed frame, one that can be for a twin or full sized bed.
I’m trying to figure out, is it the worn out mattress I find comfortable or the extra springs of the vintage bed frame helping the worn out mattress be a little more comfortable? Do I need to just toss my new mattress and try something different? I’m so confused.
Well, I’ve officially narrowed it down to 2 options for my long trip vehicle. 1995 and on Lincoln Town Car or the third generation (2005-2012) Toyota Avalon. Potentially a 1996 model (edit: 1996 Town Car), as I’ve encountered an incredibly nice one for a good price with 76k miles and zero issues.
I’m a larger man with a long torso, but I’m only ~5’10”. Many of you I’m sure have seen my previous post in hunting for a longer trip car that’d get driven at the most 500 miles a month (excluding long trips).
The poor fuel economy (in comparison) of the Town Car is evened out by needing only regular unleaded vs. the Avalon’s premium recommendation for the best power and fuel economy (which is what I’m after). I don’t know how much fuel economy would suffer with 87 octane. Forgive me for overthinking.
However, one big thing is leaning towards the Town Car: the roads I encounter when I see family are some of the worst roads in the United States. Rural Kentucky/West Virginia. The Lincoln MKZ I used to own would quiver or even be as stiff as a board over many of those bumps and potholes. I have a feeling the Town Car would soak up much more of those bumps, given it’s a body on frame car.

For background: I’ve been on the hunt for mid-size or larger cars that are suited for my needs. It won’t be a daily driver. I’m a rather large man at ~5’10” and 270lbs with a long torso, so headroom and width are needed more than absolute legroom.
My long drives consist mainly of Appalachia: long and winding roads/interstates, varying grades and road quality, speed limits of 45-70mph.
The cars are in order of least absurd to most absurd. The last three vehicles are pipe dreams, not gas savers but they are comfortable to me and I am familiar with them mechanically and their reliability. I am mechanically inclined, but I prefer to keep my blood pressure down when working on something.
All of these cars are in my area, have 90-120k miles, and seemingly haven’t been in any accidents.
6th and 7th gen Toyota Camry, 4 or 6 cylinder are fine, I’d just prefer a V6 for all the mountains.
5th gen Lexus ES. Ticks the mark for reliability and comfort by far! However, FWD V6s suck to work on.
2nd and 3rd gen Mazda 6, also seems to tick the mark for reliability and comfort.
2015-2017 VW Golf/Jetta/Passat (non-diesel), I know they’re mixed bags when it comes to reliability, but I enjoy the ride quality of these and how comfortable they are.
Ford Mustang 3.7: I am somewhat familiar with these engines, as I owned a Lincoln MKZ with a 3.5. If I could squeeze 29mpg out of an MKZ, I can squeeze 30mpg out of a Mustang. I am also impressed with how comfortable these are after driving one when I worked at a Ford dealer.
Ford panther platform: no words needed. They can get 27-28mpg if need be.
Dodge Dakota/Durango/Ram 4.7: Capable of 20-21mpg in my experience, and I am absurdly familiar with how they ride and how reliable they are. I have always found them comfortable.
After listening to the newest Deadlock podcast, I feel like it could’ve worked but it seemed lost in the storm with the WWF booking around this time. And I’m sorry, but both WCW and WWF had confusing storylines at this time. They were both absurd.
I just beat Rogue City on Xbox Series X, and there’s no “New Game Plus Campaign” option… I feel really bummed because I LOVED it in the first game. Maxed out my Murphy and everything.
Now… no bueno. Anyone else ever had this issue? Am I missing something?
We have 🅱️ulk 🅱️ogan, The Blade Runners (mega juiced), Vinnie Mac on the chicken and rice diet, Triple H (the t-rex), Shane Douglas (watch What’s in the Bag?), Warlord, The British Worm, DA BALDIE WIT THA GROCERIES, and the OG steroider (AKA GIMME A FAHKIN’ MIC)
WHY DID HE WEAR THIS?!
My peenor has never been harder… or angier… or regularer. I don’t think I’ve had this much hype for anything RCR or Cinemassacre related in many many years.
This is the automotive and gaming equivalent of Beavis and Butthead, or the Jimmy Neutron/Timmy Turner Power Hour. This is like if yin and yang finally became one. This is like making a Supra have six spinning triangles, because triangles are better.
1970s with a V8 and a 3 speed manual. Not a rubber duck or Jeep wave skeleton hand in sight. A true Jeep. Simply beautiful.
I apologize for the monoliths, didn’t want to give away my workplace 😂
