Flirting?
My family and I went to my husband’s friend’s camp today. We have 4 young kids ranging from age 3 to 10. My husband’s friend is divorced and has a kid who’s 10. Anyway, we went to his camp, swam, played some baseball, barbecued, fished, and swam some more. Then after he drove us back to the dock with his fishing boat because his camp is boat-access only (it’s only a 10-minute boat ride), our kids had to get out of their life jackets and change out of their bathing suits for the 1-hour car ride home. I said to my 6 year-old son: let’s change here (on the dock). Then I quickly clarified that I meant, let’s change in the van that’s parked beside the dock while daddy unloads the boat. Then my husband’s friend caught the part about changing “here” and asked,”Is mom gonna change here, too?” with a smile/chuckle. I just pretend-laughed and said,”No, mom is not going to change here, too,” with a fake smile/chuckle, caught off-guard because he hadn’t said anything like that to me the whole trip. It made me feel kind of uncomfortable, but also flattered lol…Was he flirting with me? Or just making a harmless joke?
