Cascades Airo - Business class diagram with windows

As the Airos start to roll out on the Cascades this week, seat assignment is being offered in Business class on these trains. The seat map on Amtrak's booking site shows the seat numbers and orientation/location, but does not show how these line up with the windows. As with lots of new trains, some seats have better window alignment than others. A while back there was a Siemens sales package that was available on their website, and which had the detailed diagrams for each car type for the various Airo, VIA, and Brightline equipment layouts. Critically, this actually includes the window positions. I used these to put together detailed seat maps for the VIA Rail Venture trains (since VIA's seat charts also don't show windows), and have found them to be very accurate to what's actually on the trains, riding them regularly.

Since I had the diagrams, I have also gone ahead and done this one up for the Cascades Airo Business class car. I used the base diagram from the Siemens material and then added the seat numbering from Amtrak. I have also added some additional marking of baggage and wheelchair spaces and some other important notes. The windows themselves are shown as hatched rectangles in the wall, with the white/blank spaces being the window pillars. From looking at various online tour videos so far, this looks like it lines up well with the actual train layout.

A few additional notes:

  • Row 18 has absolutely no window on either side. It also appears that there's no overhead luggage rack over 18A. Good to avoid those seats if you can, unless you really don't care about seeing outside.
  • The window next to row 16C+D/17C+D has the exterior digital sign display mounted in the upper part of the window. This takes up part of the window, and it also looks like there might be no window shade because of this - though I don't know that for sure (perhaps someone on board can confirm) [EDIT - per comment from someone who checked during one of the tours, it seems there is still a blind there under the display]. The other side's digital display sign is in the window across from the bathroom, so that's not an issue for the other side.
  • All of the table seats (both double and single side) seem to be well aligned at a window, which is a nice touch.

I may do diagrams up for the full train eventually, but waiting to confirm the exact layout and seat numbering for the rest of the cars before doing so (that will be easier when they're in service, we get more walk-throughs, and when they eventually roll out seat selection for economy). For the time being, I hope this is helpful for those booking trips on these new trains!
