What is causing the black speckles on the foot?

Hello! I’m pretty new to pottery and made this piece recently. The clay itself didn’t have any noticeable flecks, and after both bisque and glaze firing the foot appeared a solid tan-ish color. I started using this for coffee and these dark speckles appeared. I’m not sure if they are some type of mineral deposits, mold, mildew, or (?). It has no smell and is not changed by scrubbing, bleach soak, etc. It has been microwaved a few times without any issues. The inside is completely glazed. Any feedback is much appreciated, thank you!! 🙏🏻

Irina + Ilya (Happy Mother’s Day, Loons!)

This is a picture I modified slightly from a jewelry ad (Pandora). I stumbled across the original and felt like the mom model resembles Connor/Ilya so much, it immediately struck me as a representation of sweet Ilya as a kiddo. I had to add the crucifix and a lil baby cheek mole, of course.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and caregivers out there! And anyone grieving their mom or the relationship they wish they could’ve had. Ilya’s just a fictional character, but he learned to love and be loved first by his mama. Without that roadmap, loving Shane would’ve been so much harder. I hope that everyone who cares for a child remembers this: after everything, Ilya remembers his mom as funny and beautiful. May you see yourself through the eyes of someone who loves you today. 💗
