Scottish oatmeal revelation

I visited Scotland this year and their porridge completely changed my perception of oatmeal. Never in my life had I, an oats and water microwaver, tasted such delicious, creamy oatmeal.

Since coming back I’ve been nearly replicating the experience by making oatmeal in my instant pot: 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup whole milk, dash of salt. Topped with honey, a little more milk, and summer fruits. When I run out of my current oat stock I’m going to try to find Scottish porridge oats to really get there.
