I've played this game dozens of times since I was a kid and I had no idea there were even random encounters in this room.
The fact that they took the effort to model a 3D battlefield just for this one room is nuts, golden age Squaresoft was something else man.
I keep seeing comments on YouTube explaining the incident in extremely dire terms like that her LLM was cannibalizing itself and there was actual risk of her being genuinely lost and I can't tell how much of it is a telephone game of nonsense like the "trained on Twitch chat" thing.
Are there any actual facts confirmed by Vedal about what happened or is this all just people making stuff up and repeating what they've heard from others?
Probably just me being dumb, but I've played this game so many times since I was a kid and somehow I always thought it was Zidane delivering this monologue during Brahne's death, even though Vivi is clearly framed in front.
It wasn't until just now playing the game in japanese that it jumped out at me because the way Vivi talks is much more obvious (using the pronoun "boku", calling Garnet "onee-chan", and in the line in the pic he's much more clearly referring to how Brahne would "stop moving" using the terminology of the Black Mages)
