Self conscious about mouth ulcers

I’ve posted on here before about how I wasn’t sure it was Behcets because my mouth ulcers weren’t that bad. Well… jinxed myself.

I’ve been feeling really self conscious about it now because I’ve had two of my friends make comments about it being herpes. It’s just not something I anticipated having to explain.

My partner also made a comment about how they’re gross, which I have since talked to him about and told him it made me feel really bad. He apologized and it’s been resolved but I feel like this is just another thing to feel self conscious about.

Does anyone else feel this way? How have you managed?

I’m starting colchicine so hopefully that helps.

Bug bites not healing

Hi all. I was in Minnesota two weeks ago and got absolutely attacked by what I think are mosquitos. I had bug spray on, but alas. After two weeks, they still look like this. The itchiness has mostly gone away but it’s still kind of there. The bites themselves don’t seem to be healing.

Will it be fine if I just let it heal on its own, or do you think this is something I should go to the Dr for?

Does anyone else get these lumps?

Hi all. I posted a few days ago about potentially having Behcets, though I’m not sure I truly fit the symptom profile since ulcers are not my biggest concern. My most prevalent symptoms are tingling pain in my arms and legs (thought my right side seems significantly worse), reoccurring headaches and vertigo, joint pain, pelvic pain, fatigue, a lot of GI issues including severe bloating, and now some muscle weakness, though I still workout and lift weights.

Regardless, I did test positive for HLA B51, so my doctor wants me to track skin and mouth abnormalities since I have had issues before (just not crazy things). I posted the other day about a tongue blister, and I also noticed I get these lumps behind my ears quite often. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve had some other sores behind my ears as well which I also attached. I also noticed that I get these bumps on my nodules pretty often as well.

Sorry this post is all over the place, I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on with me.

IUD removed, starting Slynd

Hi all. Got my IUD out today and am starting Slynd. I’ve had the Mirena IUD for about 3 years but haven’t found it helpful for symptom management. After a lot of thought, I decided to take it out and try Slynd. I cannot be on estrogen based pills so my options are a little limited. The doc told me it can help with cyst suppression, which has been an issue.

I was also worried that the IUD has potentially caused weight gain? I have some other health stuff going on, but I figured it’s worth it to see if a different med is better.

Has anyone found that Slynd is better for pain/side effects? I know the progesterone level is higher, so not sure what people’s experiences are.

Small blister on tongue

Hi all. Currently going through a diagnoses process for autoimmune diseases. I have the HLA B51 gene so we are considering Behcets. I do get some mouth ulcers/cold sores but most of the ones on my tongue look like this. The white blisters on the tip. It does hurt and is pretty uncomfortable. I’ve also gotten some on the inside of my lips or the sides of my mouth/tongue. Does this look like anything you’ve had or is this not a typical presentation?

My main symptoms are GI and pain related.

Edit: I’ve also been having a lot of joint pain lately, not sure if anyone has tips for that.

▲ 1 r/PCOS

I’ve tried everything. I’ve been having chronic, horrific pelvic pain for the past 2.5 years. I have an IUD, and it’s just constant pain. They did a laparoscopy but didn’t find endo. I want to explore PCOS.

I have the weight gain and severe bloating, I have the pain, and when they did a hormonal test about six months ago it showed low sex binding hormones. I don’t know what that means really, but I want to ask for further testing.

To top it all off, I was in the ER last week with a ruptured cyst. There was also another 3cm cyst present and my right ovary was 80.2ml. And it wasn’t even close to the worst pain I’ve been in.

I’ve gained so much stomach fat, I’m so self conscious about it now. I lift weight 3x a week, I go to Pilates, I walk, I hike. I am on an anti-inflammatory diet. I’m going to see a gastro nutritionist. I don’t know what else I can do.

Anyway, that was my rant. I’ve been waiting months to see a doctor, but I have 2 appointments at the end of this month. Wish me luck I guess.
