Solo Ride Ended Up In A MeetUp With Goa Express & Bangalore Jodhpur Exp!

Left Hadapsar Gadital at 5pm in the direction of Uruli Kanchan. Took a relatively lesser known right turn, drove through nurseries upon nurseries both side of the road, crossed Tarade village and then Walti gaon until reached the ghat's base near the railway line.

Saw the railway signal green so I thought I'll show you trains today🤣

Well, captured Nizamuddin Vasco Goa Express.

Here it comes crawling:

Just as Goa Exp was gone, Bangalore Jodhpur Express was visible coming out of the ghat's tunnel far away (here is a zoomed-in clip, not very clear, apologies):

Here is the train itself:

As one can see, the road on this particular route is not suitable for scooters.

Hey folks!

While practicing MySQL last year, I came across the forward filling problem whereby you've to replace each NULL value in a column by the latest non-NULL value in that column.

For instance, a table ffill is as follows:

Table is 'ffill' with 6 records

The expected output is as below:

https://preview.redd.it/jffulpn2n9zg1.png?width=521&format=png&auto=webp&s=fea54999344b8dfb548de6d8fe5ffe84bec72d3f

As we can see, the NULL values in dept column are forward filled. Here is the MySQL query I wrote back then to yield the output table above:

https://preview.redd.it/1pez6nggn9zg1.png?width=559&format=png&auto=webp&s=1e91a77e519879cbec90d3fe22f0875f893d08d9

My question is, are there caveats of forward filling like this? What might they be? Will this way always work across the DBMSes? What would be the implications of this approach on large data sets?

I used to wonder what the region flanked by Purandar hill and all the way till Jejuri would look like at late night from a higher vantage point near Saswad.

Hence this trip (attached image and video below). The cool night and the tranquility of the remote area was healing!

Left from Viman Nagar at 1745h and passed Hadapsar gadital, Theur phata, Shindwane ghat, Singpur, Vaanpuri, Kumbharvalan chowk, Sangameshwar temple, Changawateshwar temple, Panwadi base, return to main road to go till Purandar Fort base... returned from there and reached home at 2330h.

From right to left: 20km stretch from Saswad till Jejuri Khandoba mandir; Panvadi climb can be seen too when zoomed

The attached image shows a 20km sprawl (from right to left) covering Saswad till Jejuri Khandoba temple. I shot this image (& the video below) from a field near Kumbharvalan chowk.

Zoomed at 00:14 to focus on Panwadi ghat climb and panned all the way to left eventually capturing the moon

I don't know if even watching the above shots in full screen would fully capture the awesomeness of it all, and the super cool, clear night there ...

Attached image below shows my location and the region I captured.

Red dot (spot from where I clicked); red splatter (region captured in click)

A ride there between sunset and 10pm would be safe for all.

Once again, I'd repeat that the view was great.

This one was not strictly a long riding escapade ... well I started it as one but being whimsical on that day, I took a detour to the Sonori Fort aka Malhargad Fort in the Dive rural area.

The path 1km just before the fort's gate was a steep climb and was stony, gravelly and thus slippery (no trouble for heavier bikes of course).

Bring your own water bottles for sure.
