Confused about apostilled documents to bring to Korea
Hi everyone, I was recently selected as a 2026 GKS University Track scholar, and I'm currently preparing my documents before leaving for Korea.
I read the NIIED notice, which recommends bringing apostilled academic documents for future purposes such as visa renewal and change of visa type. However, I'm still confused about what is actually necessary in practice.
My questions are:
Did you bring only one original apostilled set (degree, transcript, birth certificate), or did you prepare multiple apostilled originals?
When people say they carried "2 copy sets" of apostilled documents, do they mean color photocopies of the apostilled originals, or did they obtain additional apostilled originals?
For those who have already gone through D-4 visa renewal and later D-2 status change, which documents did immigration or the university actually ask for?
Is one apostilled original of each document sufficient, along with a few color photocopy sets, or is it better to have multiple apostilled originals prepared in India?
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have already studied in Korea under GKS or have completed the D-4 to D-2 process.
Thank you!
