For the ones who went through SERLO, how long was the whole process?

My team is undergoing SERLO and we have to complete the CAR (Career Achievement Record) and a list of references . I am wondering how the process went and how long it took for you to get the results after the deadline to submit the CAR and list of references.

5’6, 25 yo female.

TLDR: Canadian who can’t get a damn dr. appointment, fissure started 3 months ago and retears almost every month. Not sure if my fissure is chronic as it heals within the 6 week mark and keeps retearing.

Before anyone attacks me, yes, I’ve researched countless times and can’t for the hell of my life figure out if my fissure is chronic or not, and how to heal it. I am starting to lose hope and this is affecting my life a lot. You will know why I’m resorting to asking strangers on the internet shortly.

On Feb. 9, 2026, I had a usual BM, soft stools, no issues at all. Then, I look and see a pool of bright red blood in the toilet. I panicked. Over the next few days, i experienced all the usual fissure symptoms and I am sure it’s not a hemorrhoid. Now let me give you some background. Ofcourse, I am iron deficient and started taking my iron pills seriously a year ago. They caused me to have painful knife like BMs due to constipation from the pills. I stopped taking them for a while and everything went back to normal. Yes, I was dumb and should’ve started miralax instead of stopping my pills. All was good (8 months of no pain) until the 9th of February. I am not sure what caused me to bleed as I wasn’t constipated at all.

Now the journey begins. I did my research, got a sitz bath and MiraLAX and booked an appointment with my family doctor/GP. Canadians will understand this; I was given an appointment 2 weeks later because that’s how things are here. Day by day the bleeding and pain reduced and I was doing my daily sitz baths. The bleeding stopped after a week from feb 9. I saw my doctor and she gave me a hemorrhoid cream for some reason although I had explained that my symptoms are fissure symptoms. She said she cannot confirm that and that she is referring me to a specific GI specialist. The specialist’s office is supposed to call me, I cannot even call them as they don’t pickup the phone (that’s the shitty process here). I have followed up with my family doctor’s office a couple times and all I get told to is to wait and that they will follow up with the specialist. Today is May 3rd and I still haven’t gotten a call to confirm my appointment (which will also probably be at least 3 months after the call).

Anyways, a month-ish later, on the 13th of March, I had a very hard stool which caused a retear and a bunch of bleeding, more than the first time but it healed faster (in about a week). Since then I’ve been taking miralax daily, pooping every morning with no issues. Up until 2 days ago. I didn’t poop that day and I got scared and increased my miralax doses. Yesterday i had the urge but couldn’t poop more than just a little pellet which made me panic and I knew what was coming. And yes, it happened today, a hard poop that made my toilet look like a crime scene. Insane burning. I was so happy that I went for a month and a half with no issues and I‘m losing hope and I feel stuck. Every time I retear I get depressed and don’t wanna do anything but spiral. It’s worth to note that I noticed both retears happened the week right after my period ended. Fiber made me more constipated. Only miralax and lots of water help me.
