I, like may others here, have not taken the events of the upcoming 6.6 too well. One thought that I find especially grating and keep coming back to is that he, perhaps, was never intentionally meant to be a character for the player to feel compassion for, like me and many others here have assumed. Rather, his purpose has always been to simply be employed as a narrative device for others to bounce off of, and all the intricacies of his character that we have extracted from lore crumbs are just a pleasant byproduct, and were never meant to take the central stage.

I was really hoping for his twisted sense of virtue to be explored further: his goals are, after all, beneficial to all of Teyvat, however ruthless his methods may be. At least, that was my impression. I get the feeling that the narrative itself doesn’t agree, and he continues to only be portrayed as a destructive force and nothing but a destructive force in both the AQ and Lohen’s upcoming story quest.

We seem to barely be getting a glimpse of the Virtuous Doctor, and I’m lowk heartbroken over this. We do get it in his private relationship with Pantalone, but I was hoping to see it explored on a bigger scale than interpersonal relationships. I feel that this is a major part of his complexity and appeal as a character.

Anyway I have been crashing out!!! What are your thoughts on this?
