Graham platner and John Fetterman can we have a conversation around how the American left is unable to see that obviously evil white men are bad people?

I think there needs to be a conversation about how white leftists are incapable of seeing obviously evil white men in a negative fashion.

Eg. White leftists were glazing a guy with a Nazi tattoo that replaced it with a runic tattoo, which are popular among white supremacists who don't like the swastika because they consider its Origins to be South Asian

First it was John fetterman who basically almost lynched a black man for jogging in his neighborhood and then refused to apologize when it was proven the black man was innocent

I want you to actually consider this. Later it was proven that this was a completely innocent black man just trying to get exercise and jogging and after discovering that John Fetterman refused to apologize for pointing a shotgun at him and threatening to kill him if he did not obey him. This guy was who the left chose to support. This was also pre-stroke so you guys can stop pretending he was an amazing person before his stroke.

Now it's the guy that lies about being working class when he went to a prep school that cost more than the annual salary of the median American household and also who was part of a US Marine unit that was killing so many innocent Iraqi civilians that the bloodthirsty US military actually ordered them to stop lobbing Motars at them. His unit was so evil that they came up with a workaround where they could continue to lob grenades.

I want to point out that the US military covered up an incident where US Marines basically massacred an entire Iraqi neighborhood because an IED had gone off that had killed to US Marines so they decided to get revenge by killing defenseless civilians and the US military covered up so that not a single one of them saw significant jail time. I give this anecdote to point out that the US military is not some woke organization that cares about Iraqi civilians obsessively

Then years later platner goes on Reddit to brag about how they refused to comply with the US military restrictions to prevent Iraqi civilian casualties and collateral damage

I think it's notable that the vast majority of leftists that supported platner were white American leftists. It made me realize that there's a limit to the left in America and it's really more leftism with American characteristics.

Have you guys noticed a backlash against wokeness in society and a reluctance among the large portions of left to advocate for the benefits of being sensitive towards marginalized communities? I was listening to SeanDaBlack talk about this.

I’ve noticed in recent years a sharp downturn in corporate pink washing, and other faux woke campaigns. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that those corporations practising rainbow capitalism weren’t being genuine. I’m not an idiot.

However, corporations behave in a way where they think it will help them maximize profits. I do think it’s a bit of a Canary in the coal mine situation where it indicates that their marketing departments no longer believe it’s beneficial to their profitability to pretend to be woke.

Eg. It’s pride month and I’ve seen very little pink washing recently. Years ago, you couldn’t watch TV without seeing pink washing commercials.

Whether it’s accurate or not, they no longer believe appearing to be accepting and supportive of marginalized communities is something that the majority of society wants to see.

At the same time, I’ve noticed leftists like Kyle Kulinsky basically mock wokeness and talk about how he doesn’t care about that anymore and only wants to focus on economic issues. I have to say I’m disappointed in that perspective from the left. I think it’s possible to walk and chew gum at the same time and you can advocate for more than one thing simultaneously.

Recently, I’ve heard Sean talk about this, and he brought up a point I agree with.

Basically to paraphrase him:

“all of these leftists who are so happy that we aren’t going to focus on the needs and wants of black or the LGBT community could not handle their interests, not being the priority and focus of the left for even a little bit”

It made me realize that I was probably wrong when I used to debate with people online about how wrong older Black people were to not buy into Bernie Sanders and his base. I probably owe some people an apology on that topic. Watching how condescending some leftists like Kyle are to non economic concerns makes me realize that perhaps older Black people clocked some of this sentiment among the left and that might’ve played a role in them, not embracing the left more.

What are people‘s opinions around here on this topic?

Do you want the left to focus purely on economic issues or should the left Also address specific concerns of marginalized groups that might not apply to the majority of people.

Personally, I wish there was more of an embrace of the benefits of social justice, and addressing concerns of marginalized communities

What are some of your favorite memories of the Pep ERA?

Some of mine:

Jon stones clearing it off the line and preventing a comically easy tap in for Salah.

Gundogan's goal in 12 seconds vs United in the fa cup final.

Also his goal against Aston Villa and the botched slide to win the league. Gundogan going ssj during title run ins.

Rodri's goal vs inter Milan

Bernardo's goals vs real Madrid.

Kdb crushing arsenal hopes with his goal in the treble season.
