I started watching Jujustu Kaisen and realized im thirsting over Sukuna, and an Instagram reel finally told told me why: I have a primal prey kink. I could never quite put my finger on my personal brand of degenerate, but there it is. I found it.

So I am humbly asking my fellow beautiful degenerates for predator-prey vibes books. I need more Sukuna-esque bad guys, or even good guys, preying on the FMC. Unhinged MMCs, villians, or possessed allies that aren't in control of themselves. FMC in a state of horny danger and body betrayal. Slow-burn preferred. It could also be a fantasy with a side-plot of romance, not a romance-centric book.

MMC insipration: Sukuna, Valroy, Chaos/castor

I know Kathryn Ann Kingsley writes these types of MMCs well, but I have read most of them. {Unseelie prince} and {hallow faire} fit the vibe!

So I recently discovered the webtoon Dark Castle by Faun ((webtoon link) and became obsessed. I binge read the whole thing in 2 nights. Now im caught up and hungry for more like this! If anyone has read it, please send any books with similar vibes, OR if anyone has a suggestion that includes all of the things below. Id even take a fanfic, or similar comics!

- Any spice level

- Gothic or dark romance

- slow burn

- kick-your-feet tension and yearning

- monster/demon MMC, bonus points if they are considered dangerous ***this includes mostly-human versions, ala Carden and Zylas

- mysterious MMC or mysterious setting, or general mystery

- dark, spooky, or creepy setting

- general unease or scary in tone

Please nothing that involves violence against children or the mention of it. I couldn't even read past the beginning of Feathers So Vicious becuase it briefly mentioned it.

Books I have liked that sort of fit this vibe:

- {taming demons for beginners by annette marie} (mostly the mmc and slow burn, plus great tension)

- {cruel prince by holly black} (mysterious, monster-adjacent mmc)

- {phantasma}

- {Soul to Keep}

- {Manacled by senlinyu} (mysterious and the darkest of vibes)

- {Thrum by Meg Smitherman} (dark setting, monster mmc, mystery, legit scary)
