New to fostering

Hello! I recently acquired a super friendly stray who was very pregnant. Unfortunately she didn’t make it to her spay/abort and had 5 kittens 9 days ago. Which means I will have these cats much longer than I planned. I have 3 other rescue cats and I don’t want to keep the room I have them in occupied by all the kittens and mom if I can help it. Can anyone give me guidance on introducing mama cat and her kittens to the rest of the household? All my other cats are female spayed. I have mom + 2 daughters. 2 younger ones are about 9-10 months old, their mama is probably around 2-3 years old. Stray mama cat is probably only 1-2 years old.

Foster pregnant stray cat

Hello! I’m not sure what the right subreddit is for this post. I’m a couple hours away from going to pick up a friendly stray who is in late stage pregnancy. She’s set for a spay/abort on Tuesday if she holds out that long. I was wondering about flea control. I have advantage flea medicine, flea shampoo, and dawn dish soap. I want to medicate/bathe her asap to tackle the problem. What’s the best method and order of operations for pregnant cat? Yes she’s hopefully going to have them terminated but just in case she doesn’t make it I was wondering. It always says to consult a vet first. I will also call them when they open this morning but I hoped someone on here would have a good idea for me :) thanks 🙏

Curious to know if this way of speaking to your tenants is normal. Small town in Oregon. Property manager owns all the rentals in the area. Camera never got put up.. everyone still puts cardboard in the dumpster since they don’t offer recycling.. this was 6 months ago and pretty much how every mass email sounds. (We don’t put large cardboard boxes in the dumpster but it seems everyone else does)

we rent from a slumlord basically. Maybe slightly better. No washer & dryer in unit. No dishwasher. 4 bd 1.5 bath. Everything painted white 1000x and peeling. We’ve lived here since 2020. New management in the last 5 years. Everyone’s apartment complex has been updated because no one’s lived here as long as we have, and we have a dirty, nasty, matted carpet in the whole house aside for the stairs, hallway, and last bedroom. For some reason that carpet is newer and looks completely different from the rest of the unit. The other units have laminate flooring while cheap and not great floors they’re at least cleanable. Our unit has always had a smell. I can’t describe it other than musty and dirt. It drives me insane, I tend to have a more sensitive nose than most people! We pay the same rent as the updated units and even 100 more than the one across from us which is a duplicate unit because they couldn’t rent it for what they were asking (saw the listing online go from 1600 to 1500)

Basically, how much of a chance do I have of getting our rent lowered or new flooring? We pay rent on time every month, don’t cause issues, are good tenants who rented from the property managers for a year and a half prior to moving somewhere cheaper before they bought out the complex so we have good rapport.

I have messaged and asked about the possibility of new carpet or laminate flooring a year ago.. got “well we can take a look at the cost and ability to do it but I can’t promise the owners will agree” someone came out. Looked. Ghosted me on all my follow up emails.

I’m tired and I hate living here but it’s all we can afford. They also just kicked us out of our parking spots for a week for roof replacement. 8am-5pm for a whole week and a half, the weekend included. Left trash in my parking spot. I’m exhausted and frustrated
