Millings

I am extending my driveway for my new shop and decided to do something cheap since we had gone over budget on the shop already. I’ve done tons of millings driveways successfully so I decided to try something different with this one 🤦‍♂️.

My millings are 8-10” thick and were not great. They aren’t fresh, were rather dusty but had no chunks. I rolled in 3” lifts with a double drum vibrating roller. I sprayed the top down with diesel, let them sit over night, hit them with a torch, then sprayed again (these photos were at that point). They’ve since been sprayed once with oil based driveway sealer and it does truly look like an paved driveway.

The issue is durability. It was laid about a month ago and sprayed 2 weeks ago. The top 3/4” to 1” is bound together good but nothing else is. I can drive on it and there are no issues but if I park anything on it, it’s leaving divots. Tracked equipment is tearing it up too. It’s scheduled to be sprayed with tar/road oil in a couple weeks. Will a couple coats of road oil bind it enough to hold up or will it always get these divots? I’m tempted to cancel the oiling and tear it up and start over. I don’t have the confidence that I could make it look this good using hot mix without having a paver or drag box. I’m not an asphalt guy either.

Hunter RX12 calibration

I purchased this lift used a couple months ago for my new home shop. I have the lift set in the pit and leveled using a laser transit. Hunter sent me the install manual and I followed the calibration instructions but they are for a newer model of the lift than mine so it wasn’t all exact.

It seems that I’ve completed the calibration sequence and the status light goes solid green but the lift won’t go up or down. It does nothing at all unless I put it back in calibration mode. Does anyone on here have any experience installing one of these or know any way to troubleshoot what my issue may be?
