Me, my wife, and 3 kids (7,6, and 3) are flying overnight Houston to Paris! I know families generally stick together when minors are flying, but we haven’t bought seats yet. ideally we would get a row of three and a row of 2 behind it.

should I pay for all 5? pay for just me and the wife each alone in those rows and then the airline will auto assign the seats next to us with our kids?

or should I let fate decide and save the cash??
