Do Branch employees normally call customers directly from the banking app?

Okay i understand this is an odd question but its something that i thought about for years and will like some closure. I used to live in a very small town in Washington state. One time i went into a branch to open an account and the employee was very nice like out of her way nice explaining everything and asking if i had questions. I was there for like 30-45 mins opening a checking account which i thought was a little odd it never took that long before.

For a bit of context here i not very socially aware in general and at the time i was working remotely up in the mountains in WA growing pot and would go weeks sometimes a couple months without seeing another person.

Anyway i eventually leave and that very same day like maybe 2 hours after i left i look at my phone and see my wells fargo app was ringing like i had no idea i was so confused and thought it was a scam or glitch or something. Turns out it was the same employee that just helped me saying she just wanted to check in if i had any questions and if i possibly wanted to make an appointment to come back to the branch to discuss different accounts she thinks would be beneficial.

I never went back cause i was busy with work but like 6 years later i still wonder was she just being nice or doing her job or was it something else?
