Can someone walk me through weights on a paddle?

Is the idea that I should be weighting my paddle for what I am struggling with, or to enhance how I currently play? For example, I have noticed that at higher levels (4.25+), my volley is just a tick off and my paddle face is open. A huge part of that is timing, but also I feel like weights may help to ensure that the paddle is not twisting back as much on those shots where I am out of position?

I have a tennis background so I get head heavy/head light and how that impacts things, but I guess I am not sure how weights in pickleball should be approached.

Five years ago today, Giannis with arguably the defining play of his career to ultimately tie the Finals 2-2.

Still the greatest play I have ever seen live and, to me, the play that defines what makes Giannis such a special player. There is a lot of talk here about statues and all that in the future and I hope THIS is the play they use if anything like that is ever done.

Thoughts on the new Twin Suns decks?

I picked up the Dooku/Asajj and Anakin/Padme decks. I played a quick game between the two and liked the feel for each.

Anyone else picked up decks and tried them out? Thoughts?

I recently filled in for a guy who did something to his leg a few weeks back. His partner has been playing in this league with a rotating cast of partners depending on who can fill in. Let's call him Dave. Dave and I played two people ranked 3.5 and 3.3. Dave was a 3.2 and I was 3.9. Dave has not won in months, but it's cool, I'll fill in to help. He's a nice guy. One opponent was in her early 40s and the other in his mid twenties. Dave is 75 and I am 29. First game, we lose 10-11.

I quickly learn that Dave cannot move. Dave will not move. Dave cannot get to any ball that isn't put on his paddle. But in his defense, Dave is 75. We go on to lose 10-11, 7-11, and 6-11. I am leaving feeling good because it was fun to have to try and cover a whole court. I think, maybe my rating will drop a bit but it can't be that much. This is the closest to a win Dave has gotten in months.

Wrong.

WRONG.

My rating dropped 0.07. Dave's dropped 0.08. I have no idea why it caused such a dramatic swing. Both he and I have 90-100 reliability scores. We play games with similar results every week against similar players. I have no idea how the math works on that. It almost feels like I was penalized for not saying "fuck him, he can play by himself". I'm also a little frustrated that this basically wiped out the past few months of competitive games that I played.

To add to this, my regular partner and I played another game that night against two guys with identical scores to us. We won 1 of the three, but actually won overall for the league because we scored more than we gave up between the three games. I think we each dropped like 0.02. That I can understand a bit more, but still.

Why? Why is DUPR like this? To me, it feels like there are a thousand ways to lose points, but you can only win them back 0.00001 a point at a time. Unless, of course, you pay for a reset....
