Update: Wedding Wholesalers Fall Short

I had a conversation with my biggest wholesaler about how difficult last week was regarding flowers not coming in/coming in wrong. It was really great. He recommended using catalogs from their primary farms for ordering flowers I frequently use for weddings, like scabiosa, roses, disbuds, cushions, etc (we do a ton of budget weddings) so that I am actually asking for colors/varieties they can easily source. He will share the catalogs with me in digital format so that I can have a file with them for easy reference (versus the old print posters). I am also going to place my orders in a slightly different way to make things easier when he is pulling, including marking “high priority” blooms so that if they don’t come in he can contact me immediately for subs.
He is going to talk to his buyer and find out if the communication can be improved there so that if something can’t be ordered as requested, he can let me know so I can pivot rather than finding out at time of delivery.
Overall I was really happy with the suggestions and felt like we were working together to make life easier on us both.
