Cats are a-holes, but we love them
I made this spread last week. Once I got the idea to shred the curtains, I couldn't stop, ended up staying up way too late and was sleepy at work the next day. But totally worth it, right?!

My brain was craving an analog activity this winter and I am so happy to have discovered junk journaling. I was a scrapbooker back in the day, but stopped when everything went digital and life got busy. Compared to the scrapbooking that was popular in the early 2000s, junk journaling seems less formulaic, has lower stakes and discourages consumerism / encourages sustainability. I’m a big fan of including cool old ephemera I find at the Goodwill bins and a second-hand craft store near me, grabbing free stuff in my daily life, cutting up magazines, and using sticker books. My spreads usually feature big bold anchor pieces or modern graphics paired with lots of vintage touches; this juxtaposition has become my kind of signature style. I also try to incorporate interactive elements into each page. The cabinet of curiosities spread is probably one of my favorite layouts. It’s actually a picture of a wooden printer’s tray I found online, then glued individual stickers and images onto!
